Last whip was 35/30 front and rear (below). What do you would look right on ZHP. Its time to do this, heading into summer. Thanks...

My ZHP has 15%. I find that too dark (especially at night when you are driving). I don't drive the car much, though, so it's not a huge problem.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v125/marcussandiego/2011-05-08_12-44-16_279.jpg

My 335 had 20%, which I found to be more practical. Yet, it was still a bit dark at night. Made it tough to see out of them at night.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v125/marcussandiego/Photo%20shoot%20June%2013%202010/MarksE92129-1.jpg

And here's a bonus picture (ZHP and 335 together on the freeway; very rare footage there. :biggrin):

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v125/marcussandiego/2011-03-04_13-49-51_187.jpg

Therefore, I would go for 30%.

IMHO as dark as you legally can :). My car came with super dark tint and I get nothin but compliments on it. I love how it looks too. It also keeps the car cooler and I have less sun to deal with.

Depends.

Do you want heat protection or just looks?

I'd look into ceramic tint. If you go with about 50% Ceramic you will get the heat rejection of 35% normal

I agree, Im in california (land of 1000 reasons to get a ticket) and front window tint beyond I believe 85 percent or something is illegal. I have never gotten any trouble and it has been 7 months.

Dane,

I'm running 35% all around and have no issues here in Rhode Island. I have driven my ///M (35% on it as well) down to Manassas and have had no issues with the LEO there. Here is my ZHP with 35%

This was my last bimmer with 35%
http://i395.photobucket.com/albums/pp37/macdctr/323iside.png

With 35% you get just the right amount of dark but transparent enough that the LEO won't bother you about it. It's a win IMHO :thumbsup

Yep-- if the locals are sticklers for the tint, it can definitely be a pain. Around here, you really don't see much tint enforcement unless you've got it blacked out.

I have 20% on my Mazda Tribute. It's been on there for 8 years. Neither I nor my wife has ever been stopped once for the tint.

Tint Bubba says tint only comes in 5, 20, 35, and 50. I will go with the 35. He says he uses Johnson? I don't know anything about tint.

This is kinda cool. Choose 330i, then choose the type of tint, to get an idea of what each looks like.

This is huge. I would just ask if the guarantee covers discoloration.

I didn't know anything about tint before getting mine done either - all i knew was a buddy of mine had a 4Runner that had faded tint. It didn't look bad, but you don't want to be rolling with tint that faded to purple. :)

My understanding is that a lot of that fade and purple coloration of tint is due to the use of ammonia based cleaners like Windex.

It's darker than I expected, but I think that's largely due to 8% on the rear three - they don't let much light into the car, so the fronts appear darker than they are...

Mine is also crystal clear.

It was "blurry" or foggy on the first day - they said they put on the tint with a light soap/water solution that needs some heat/sun to dry/cure the solution.

I was told if it didn't go away to bring it back.
