Hey guys, new to the forums here and looking to join this prestigious family of zhp owners.

I currently drive a 2006 G35 coupe in obsidian black with 49k miles on it

http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/29327_613035859456_39502440_35469958_164361_n.jpg

I'm looking for a pretty specific car lol

2004 bmw 330i 6MT zhp with cold weather package in titanium silver

I'm gonna keep driving the g35 till I find my baby, then it's game on :D

Welcome. If that one doesn't pan out, take your time and be very picky about the car you want. Patience will pay off in the end.

Well the one in Kansas City has several key things I'm looking for

cold weather package (ohio gets cold lol)
zhp (lol derp)
navigation (not a necessity but sweet)
mysticblau (i was looking for TiAg but I love the color of the blue and the rest of the ingredients are right)
under 100k miles is nice (it's at 78k)

The only thing I've noticed is a rust spot on the back of the left wheel area, I'll ask if it's a spot in the photo or if it's an actual rust spot.

I looked at ZHPs for 3 months, then randomly got a E90 lol. Take your time though and get what it is you want.

btw, are you going to sell the G? I have a friend that might be interested.

Friends don't let friends buy G's.

Just kidding!

carsontl

well spoke to the owner of that mysticblau in kansas city and it looks like the car's in great shape except for some light wear on the leather and a scrap on the front bumper from when he grazed the car with his riding mower:

http://slideshow.pixkc.com/cl/e46/IMG_8551.jpg
You can see it on the front left corner of bumper (white streak)

He took pics of the subframe and it's clear of any fatigue or fracture lines so that's good. He had a strut mushroom up on the right side of the car and has had it repaired and reinforced with the strut reinforcement rings.

carsontl
06-03-2011, 06:33 AM
Very good chance like 95% yeah, going to put down some money to hold the car for a couple weeks till I can sell the G35 and then fly out and pick it up!

Marcus-SanDiego

carsontl
06-03-2011, 06:37 AM
it's got a few issues, but for 16k it's in great shape. The seats are a bit on the worn side but I won't be looking at them lol. Worn leather feels better than new leather anyways right? haha

Marcus-SanDiego
06-03-2011, 06:39 AM
I hear you on the leather. It would likely only be an issue when you resell the car. But that's OK. Just make it a negotiating point for you when you buy it.

Worn leather does feel pretty good, though.

Yup. If it's really bad, I've seen a surprisingly decent amount of seats for sale on e46f.c in the classifieds here and there so you could replace if necessary.

carsontl
06-03-2011, 08:41 AM
it's only lightly worn, no tears or anything. It's sand colored so it doesn't stand out too much but yeah if it gets too bad down the road it should be an easy swap

Thanks Mtnman!

Anyone know how much it costs to replace a valve cover gasket? Easy to do myself? I'm somewhat mechanically inclined.

Just had a point to point inspection done on the car and the only issues were a leaking valve cover gasket and belts which I can do.

Valve cover gasket should not be too difficult. Haven't done mine yet... that's on the list.

Marcus-SanDiego
06-25-2011, 06:29 PM
I wish I could tell you that it never existed. Alas, the previous owner had two drill holes in the bumper. Rather than have someone do bumper work on my car, I ordered a Euro plate instead. The holes, which are pretty small, are now covered. :biggrin

That's understandable! That notary stuff can be a pain in the butt. That's one good thing about Missouri; it's not required here.
