Just out on a hot (almost) summer day in Western New York...My son decided to snap a few photos of my car (with my new ZHPMafia stickers - of course)...We don't get too many of these days around here...lol...gotta get out and drive!

I'm in the Buffalo area...My brother lives in Rochester (Greece)...washed the car today (looking pretty good). did my CDV valve last weekend. I am getting through a lot of maintenance items and now looking at some upgrades. actually contacted the guys at coby wheel the other day to get a quote for a new steering wheel (sure would be nice to have some new alcantara on the wheel, plus some nice stitching; and maybe even a timing stripe). A friend of mine wants me to head out to Watkins Glen this summer to ride on the track. might take him up on it, sounds like fun...

Don't like Imola Red??? How about Monaco Blue. I know it's not an e46 (but) I convinced my wife recently to pick up a 2008 e90...She just got home from work so I have one more car to wash tonight. I told her it drives better than a mini-van. I guess I am lucky that worked... (see photo) We call them Liberty (Blue) and Freedom (Red). Very patriotic (don't you think). {My kids think I am nuts.}

Hey I was just joking about the Imola thing...it was a lead in to showing you my other car. Although I must say that I have gotten more questions and comments about the color from more complete strangers off the street (especially when pumping gas). It's not cherry red, it's not bright red, IT'S IMOLA RED!! I try to explain what Imola is and they just...anyway, it's been a long day and I have finished washing the cars. They are now safely tucked away ready for tomorrow (hopefully it doesn't rain). Should promise to be one of the best Father's Days yet...I'm going to grab a bier and enjoy! Prost!!!

Out of curiosity - How do you explain Imola red color to others? I've had people ask me and I just tell them it is a limited edition color used exclusively on M cars....

I tell people that imola is named for a place in Italy where they have a formula one track. Bmw's m division names some of its m cars after f1 tracks. Imola red, named after a track in Italy, is therefore an m color that they decided to put on the very unspecial ZHP.

That's exactly what I told them too. Unfortunately most people here either haven't heard of F1 or any racetracks other than the circuits raced upon by indy or nascar's. So there goes such potentially cool colors as Gilles Villenueve Green or Silverstone Silver. They don't even race at Indianapolis anymore (that is F1). At least there back in Canada. Say did anyone catch the race last week. Nothing but WET...

You said Western New York and Buffalo?!? My wife is from Buffalo... we make it up there every now and again to visit her family and friends (mostly in the Cheektowaga area)....
I haven't told GMATT (gary) yet, but I'm sure I'll drop by and tell him when I'm in the mood for Dinosaur BBQ (in Rochester, Syracuse, NYC, and now, TROY) - but most likely not until next year due to work commitments.
