This is the first ZHP I ever drove, a very nice car. The owner was asking $24K back in Aug 2010 when I first saw it, he came down to $23K and then took it off the market. I've been sending him contacts of prospective buyers periodically but caveated it that I thought the market was around $20K for his car, guess he still believes its worth the maximum book price.

Agree, Bruce. Nearly 50k miles. It's a 2006, which is good, but mileage does not warrant top dollar. At $23k, this should have lower miles.

Nice car but not for 07 and 08 335i monies. When on vacation a few weeks ago I looked and almost purchased a 06 AW on Natural Brown ZHP with 65K, remaining bal of the BMW CPO warranty. It also had two sets of wheels, every e46 BMW Performance parts installed and CF front splitters and rear bumper insert. It was selling for $16,500 at a Nissan dealer in Florida.

This is my car. You guys tell me what it's worth, since I'm so delusional. I can't help it there are people out there giving away their cars like they need crack money. It booked for 29k last year...I put 2k in it this year to polish up the paint and add those sweet M3 mirrors. NO rash on the wheels...5k miles on the tires...barely a scratch on the entire car. There are people out there asking more than 25k for 06s with higher miles, grey leather interior, and god forbid, no clutch pedal. It's got everything an enthusiast wants in a ZHP. I don't need to sell it, so I'm not going to give it away. Sorry if that offends your sensibilities.

Hi.

You are new here, so I am certainly going to cut you some slack. (We try to respect each other here. I think you came off as a bit aggressive.)

First, we all have our opinions. That's what they are. However, we base our opinions on the market around us. A ZHP coupe with nearly 50,000 miles, even if it's a 2006, doesn't sell for $23K as far as most of us can tell.

Many of us have recently bought or sold cars. I can't recall any of us paying $23K for a car with nearly 50,000 miles. My best guess is that your car will sell for closer to $20,000.

But, hey, this is what makes markets. You think your car is worth top dollar. Others think that it may be worth less. At some point, if you plan to sell it, you'll need to figure out what the market will bear.

It's my understanding your car was originally priced at $24,000 last year. You then brought the price down to $23,000. Eventually you took the car off the market. I don't know why you pulled the car off the market.

A year later, though, you have the car back on the market at $23,000. These are not collector cars. I would assume that your car depreciated a little during the last year. However, you're still pricing it at $23,000.

If no one is interested in buying your car at $23,000, and you're not willing to lower the price, then my hunch is that you are going to pull the car off the market again. It's a great car. If no one is willing to give you the price you seek, you should keep it.

Because we're a niche forum, focusing on ZHPs, I think we're pretty dialed in to what's going on in the ZHP market. If you want some help pricing your car, we're here to help.

I am not offended by your comment.

I hope you're not offended by mine.

P.S., we are a very friendly group here. We don't mean any harm when we discuss the prices we see in the market place. If we came off as out of touch or ignorant, about ZHP prices, I apologize for the entire forum.

Right. I was asking 24k when it booked for 29k. And just because I'm asking 23k doesn't mean I won't take less. It's a CL ad. You always ask for more than you think you'll get because no matter what you ask, people will always offer less. For what it's worth, I think 23k (book) is very reasonable as a starting point (for what I have in it) and I certainly didn't think that price was SO crazy that it warranted its own thread. But like I've told Bruce, I don't need to sell it; and to your point, I'll just keep driving it with a smile on my face if nobody wants it at my price.

I specifically didn't place an ad here in an effort to avoid this type of conversation (can you ever find a price low enough to satisfy someone who owns 2 of these things?), though I appreciate whoever it is out there who tried to get me some extra exposure. And I also appreciate the slack. Didn't mean to come off as aggressive. I'm used to all the arrogance in "other" e46 forums.

No worries here. We don't treat each other like assholes (as they do on other sites). Our forum was the focus of a column two months ago in Roundel magazine (http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/content.php?31-ZHPMafia.com-Featured-In-Roundel-Magazine-%28June-2011-issue%29). Feel free to read it. It will tell you everything you need to know about us.

What's more, if you had been a member of this site -- and posted your own for-sale ad -- we would not comment on your pricing. We've got a rule here: if the for-sale ad is posted by a member, do not comment on price. The market will do all of the talking. If the for-sale ad pertains to a seller who is not a member of this site, then feel free to comment on price. See our policy here (http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?623-For-Sale-Threads-Dos-and-Don-ts.).

You're a member of our forum now.

Welcome.

I saw that article in Roundel, though I've known of your site for a while. I also appreciate your "no comment" policy for ads. When this thread is a distant memory, maybe I'll take advantage. Thanks for the welcome.

Best to you.

Now that you're a member, we'll ease off the price commentary.

Take care.

rhfosu, sorry if I caused you any grief by posting the ad here. Just trying to alert others to the ZHP opportunities that exist. I hope to be in the market myself in the near future (currently have a 330Ci). -welcome

Guys, don't worry about posting other cars.

We do what we do independent of who may or may not like having the car listed.
