Hooked me up with brakes a few weeks ago for ~$500 out the door for everything a few weeks ago

Just got quoted $260 for a new oil separator + install
-$120 for oil separator
-$130 for 3+ hours labor

But why spend the money when you can experience the joys of replacing your CVV? :dunno

I don't feel like doing it with all the 'blind' work that I hear about & I don't have the time to do it because I'm SURE it won't only take me 3 hours. :rofl

Thats a crazy low labor price. The dealership I work for charges @$110 per hour. Even small sideshops in the area charge over $70 per hour....
I would keep going there.

I work there, thats why I'm getting such good prices. I also made friends with a few of the (cool) mechanics. Even though I've had to do this (unexpected) work to my car..theres no doubt I've saved $1500+ from working there.

I'll hopefully get to experience the joys of vanos soon :)

Bold face is a true statement. Every time I decide to do some work thinking it'll be a leisurely two hour beer-drinking job, it turns out to be twice as long, twice as intense with no beer drinking.

That's crazy cheap labor. The couple of times I have been in the local dealership to pick up a random part I usually get a laugh from the service department. They have big comfy chairs around where a service associate sits down with the customer and talks through the expensive price. They always have a comforting tone of voice. I guess they found better results when the customer was seated in a comfy chair away from the counter when they got the sticker-shock.:rofl

Haha! Ryan, I was totally serious about that to...:shifty

I changed mine when my manifold was off. Kept the newer stuff from the b30 manifold. It was from an 04 e60 I think. So the hoses were in good shape and wouldn't need replacing yet.

Actually...I'd love to! Pick a good weekend, you pay for the half price of gas it takes me to get to Wilkes-Barre and back to Morgantown and I'll be there in a jiffy :)

Only 308 miles...bet I could make it there in 4 hours or less. Average speed of 77 mph...NBD ;)

Party weekend bro. Move in weekend is nuts. I've been perpetually drunk since Thursday evening.

I'm jealous. This is my first year living at home (junior year) and I'm commuting to the same university I've lived at for the past two years. It got pretty boring there with only like 5000 kids that attend there. Parties were like highschool...same kids seen at every one. Just gets old and annoying to me.. especially with cliques . I may try to transfer after this [terrible] upcoming year so that I can get away from home. Plus most of my friends live at their school..so not many of my friends are home.

I recommend you go somewhere....transfer your credits, and get a fresh start. Keep your chin up this year though.

Well, figured I'd update this thread instead of make a new one..

Since I work at the dealer and today was a rainy crappy day...I pretty much got to watch the tech work on my car. Inspected all my hoses & showed/told me how they had literally 0 gunk in them. Checked my DISA valve and it was all good (said it must have been replaced before). Cleaned out my ICV valve. Then showed me how my CCV was 'like new'

I'm not really sure if it was worth doing but I figured it's done and it's one less thing that will go wrong. I upgraded to the new insulated version. So $270 well spent for piece of mind and 'hopefully' no more oil consumption.

Can't put a price on peace of mind, man! Glad you're comfortable with that :)
