Hi all,
Came across this on CL: http://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/2565493199.html
Looks pretty clean, and has the upgraded tan Montana leather.
Seller seems somewhat clueless.
Car is located in East Memphis.

hmmm....interested maybe. looks like the car is in Memphis, and i know someone there that might be able to haul the car to Saint Louis for me where i can go pick it up.

more interested in a car that's in nashville right now....but this isn't bad.

Another member PM'ed me on this car and said it sounded like the seller was unwilling to negotiate on price at all. Also, when he asked the owner about typical maintenance items, his standard answer was along the lines of "I took it to the dealer when the light came on."

So, based on the fact that it's overpriced and has dubious maintenance history, I passed on inquiring.

Of course, the seller may get more willing to negotiate if people aren't interested at his asking price after some time passes.

seems like $14-15 is a more reasonable purchase price for this?

As SC mentioned I had communication with the seller about a week ago. He was quick to respond and provided detailed images of exterior scratches (small) and a 3 minute walk-around video.

Even though the car is relatively close I also passed due to the firm price and unclear maintenance history.

tnord- In my relatively uniformed opinion the car is worth every bit of $14k and would likely sell very fast at that price.

Like the interior.

Hopefully it will find a good home.

In his ad, seller states that BMW scheduled maintenance has been followed "to the t" by a BMW dealer. Maybe that could be verified through the dealer who does the servicing. It would help his sale and give a prospective buyer piece of mind if that could be verified.
The Montana leather might add a bit more value to someone who likes it...and it seems to be in better than average overall cosmetic condition for the stated mileage of 83K.
I don't like black exteriors...and I'm looking for a lower mileage specimen, but if I was looking to buy this one, I don't think I would pay more than $14.5 (with good records) ...and $14K +/- seems like the sweet spot to me.

I'd be looking to offer $14K on this one, too.

i don't like that in his ad he says "9k miles til next oil change"

And I'm kind of surprised that the washer pump has not been fixed. That's an inexpensive fix and item. If you're not fixing that item, what else are you neglecting?

Just something to consider.

I will inspect the car for anyone who really wants it. Just PM me, I live in Memphis.
*edit* I can also pull reports on it from the local BMW dealership.

And that's how often BMW mechanics tell you to change your oil lol, that's why he's saying that.

i know that's what "they" say, but i can't go more than 5-6k without an oil change on any car i own, ever.
