Yeah, I'm feeling the chill now that I'm home. While I was in Colorado I took my daughter down to Colorado Springs and stopped by the Garden of the Gods park to show her the view. She enjoyed the trip there and I managed to get a few pics to share with everyone here :)

Thanks John and Keith! It was nice but I had to take it easy since I was over 5,000 above sea level. Had to drink lots of water and some gatorade while I was there. I would be willing to deal with the altitude however if I could only find a decent job over there...:)

This is such a great perspective shot. The wood detail is fantastic too. Next time try to keep it in the bottom 1/3 of the frame, get the mountain and everything in the top 2/3rds and then you have a framable shot you took that's properly composed.

When a photo is split in 1/2 Iike what we see here, it becomes visually distracting and doesn't look as planned out.

Great job on those shots though, I can tell you've been practicing your editing.

Completely agree. Only thing I remember is rule of thirds, aperture, and shutter speed.

Only post processing done on these was exposure because some of them were a little dark or bright. Not exactly the best hour to take photos (mid day).

My two favorite were the foot path and foot bridge because I felt they led you through the photo, but I'm sure they could have been composed better.

Hey fellas, I found this gem over the weekend that we've all been paying for for most of our lives. I guess you could say WE own it. What it is, is the cafeteria at The University of Tennessee Space Institute, that is located on The Arnold Air Force Base located just south of my route to work.

I was taking some pictures of my ZHP in a parking lot over looking this lake, when a security patrol stopped by. We catted and he asked if I had some time. me; yes, him follow me. A few parking lots over we arrive at at the upper level entrance and from there I receive a personal tour of of the cafeteria and gorgeous view from the adjoining lakeside patio. This place is only open for breakfast and lunch, open to the public as well and the prices are better than fast food. Definitely need to stop and grab some lunch one day as its less than ten minutes from work.

FYI; the security guard was a retired Detroit cop. I think he finally found his ultimate job.

Looking good! My only slight suggestion would be to try and keep the horizon (or in this case, the end of the lake) level. Maybe it's just my OCD, but I feel that a level photo is subconsciously pleasing, and when it is askew something feels off about it.

Edit: I googled "askew" (https://www.google.com/search?q=askew&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=sb) ... I immediately regretted it.

And, here is another 'low key' shot of my dad (who kindly volunteered to be the subject)
