After several months of research, I think an '04-'06 330i zhp sedan is what I want. Now if I could only find one. Live in Denver and want this as a 2nd car so the miles don't continue to add up on my 4wd diesel. Let me know if you have any tips, or model years that are not reliable. Would love to find reasonalbe low mileage < 55k miles

Thanks, not in a rush, maybe with winter approaching I can get a good deal. I'll stay tuned. Saw a few '06 330i's on Craigs list, one which is white that I don't know if it has the zhp package. maybe color is a dead give away ( or maybe the wheels)

Welcome to the site.

Some great info on the ZHP to include identifying characteristics here. (http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?1789-Frequently-Asked-Questions-(FAQ)-About-the-BMW-E46-330-ZHP-Performance-Package-Option)

FYI: The sedan was only available from '03-'05, so an '06 will be an e90 and not a ZHP.

I too came from DDing a 4wd diesel F-250 to a ZHP. Loved it, you'll never regret the decision.

Welcome and good luck with your search. When I got mine I had to read between the lines to see if the car was a zhp or a zsp, just get familiar with the little things that are different and you should be able to tell whats what.

Welcome. As far as model years, no issues with that wrt ZHPs like you may see in other cars. There is no "avoid the '04s because of 'X' thing going on". I think the only real model year thing was the major recall on the subframe from earlier E46 models (not even sure if ZHPs were included, I'd have to look that up to see if they were around then), but even that's not a model year reliability issue.
