Well, it's about time :eeps

Car has been severely neglected from any proper washing technique. There was holograms all over the car, not to mention the PO had a clear bra installed and the installer actually cut the clear bra on the car, and CUT INTO THE PAINT!!!

Needless to say, I had my work up for me. I wasn't going for 100% correction, because with the amount of damage done, I knew it was going to be too much time, I looked at around 90-95%.

I know, I pulled the clearbra off and I thought it was just wax build up, thankfully all of it came out with minimal wetsanding.

Pads are of different "cutting ability" and when you clean them you have to wait for them to dry. Couple of reasons there to have many pads.

The installer who did it cut the clear bra on the car. You cut the clear bra with a razor blade...you can think of the damage. He literally cut/into the paint :(

I have over 8 different pads, and 6 polishes, no car is the same. I knew this combo would work because I did a test panel on my car earlier in the year.

Polish/Cut/Correct are all the same :) There are softer pads, like LLC Black, Blue and Gold that are used for finishing polishes (Black) and blue/gold used to apply sealants or Jewel the paint...

When I did other cars, I was charging $300 for 3-step correction. I'm done with that though

Blah, I knew this would come up, just when!

When the car was in the body shop...(had to keep on going back to fix the dent on the roof and front bumper damage from unload), and it's FINALLY DONE. I was drying off the car and the cover just fell off. The body shop kept on saying how they broke it, and had to order a new part. But when it fell off, they rigged it so just stayed on (and it was still broke). Needless to say, I drove there Monday and they are ordering me a new piece and painting it for me.

Nope. But I get the gist. I just need to start, "get my hands dirty" , and I'll start figuring things out. I'm going to try a 5 pad "kit" from autogeek, testing the different densities/feels (?) of the pads for the products I have. I think a light cutting pad, and some designated polishing- no cutting pads, and a jeweling pad (which is black apparently) will get me started. then I can order more of which I want. I'm sure I'll have more questions for you in the future, but thanks for helping so far!

Yea 105 205 is the combo to use now. Can't beat it.

Orange with 105 and white with 205 on a PC should do the trick. BMW CC means clear coat

Glad to know I'm inspiring people...haha. Doing stuff by hand only masks the problem. You can't even create enough heat to do correction. There is a random youtube video someone showed doing hand polish, and it took 10 minutes to do a 2x2 section by hand, crazy.

Jetseal 109 is better than Wolfgang 3.0 I just got Wolfgang because it offers better depth and gloss than Jetseal 109 (but at the cost of less protection overall). Both are outstanding sealants, don't get me wrong...it's just that I have personal choices and through my experience with Wolfgang I'm not going to change.

105 and SIP? That seems like 2 intense polishes with no really finishing effect. If you wanted a Menzerna Polish, you could go 106FF.

Do you have any tips on using the orbital buffer for someone who has never used one before? Lastly do you prefer the Dodo over Meguiars Wax/Polish? Sorry for all the newb questions.. thanks for the help..
