I want one... at a cheap price. I think that everyone that thinks this is good idea should NOT commit but at least say they are interested so we can get a better perspective of the bulk/wholesale would be.

I'd be interested in the newer one. Not too keen on buying the older technology/model for only $30 savings over the new one.

I would agree with you on that....i will go for either one but I would rather have the newer one.

I personally like the sleekness of the older one. But it's not a huge deal.

Have we figured out if you can have the camera running while the car is off?

And where does it draw its power from? I'm pretty wary of electronics on E46.

HTC Thunderbolt+TT

I believe it's just the cigarette lighter. Now that you mention this, when I plug my Garmin in the cigarette lighter, I have to unplug it to turn it off (or manually hit the power button). Which means, the camera will continue to run unless unplugged or manually turned off.

Just hardwire it.

I have my V1 hardwired, but I'd like the camera to stay on while the car is off and in a parking lot. I like I'd get the flashlight to AV adapter from ECS and use that for the power source.

Okay, update here:

Email from DOD

Jeremiah,

Yes, if you become a dealer with us you do get some considerable discounts for bulk purchasing. Let us know if you would be interested in this, you would have to fill out a dealer application with us.

Best Regards,
The Team at Dod-tec.us

I am sending another email to see if that is really necessary and for who some of the dealers here in the US are. Will update as I find out more information.

IMHO:

1. Buy a GoPro, which also has HD recording. Uses a fisheye lens.

2. Buy adhesive dash mount:

http://www.amazon.com/Arkon-CMP128-Multi-Angle-Ratcheting-Dashboard/dp/B004M8ST4K

And you can use your GoPro for snowboarding, surfing, etc. :thumbsup The thing is freaking indestructible.

Though that GPS recording thing is a sweet idea.

I think if we're really committed, we have 5 buyers and can get a little better of a deal (as posted on the website).
Or we can wait until Jeremiah gets his reply about US dealers and see if more buyers gets an even better deal.
