Tie rod ends? Guess its time to replace my 117k mile suspension.

Also have a squeak from the left front it seems...

Going to have it inspected over spring break...

Squeak could be balljoint. If you push your car up and down while parked and it squeaks id say ball joint, ask me how I
I know.

Are you talking about the creaking noise from the FSM's when turning the wheels while at a standstill?

Dunno...I had went for a hard spirited drive and when I snagged my dinner I noticed it after I placed my order...it hasn't happened today. But it was very obvious when it occurred.

The title of the thread makes me thing of a totally different noise.

I'm talking about the one that comes from the rubber around the doors. You know the one I mean?

I have a squeak when I get in my car too. I thought it was my springs until I had them replaced today..and then I went to get in it afterwards; creak still there. Agh

Funny cause neither your, nor my creak resembles the one initially posted at top.

Time for a new thread then!

Creek is when I turn the wheel. Both directions make the noise. Could my old, dirty PS fluid be suspect?

Fluid is fluid.. I don't think it should make creaking noises? If anything it should make a grinding sound.. right?

Yeah that's the noise. It's not as bad as that though.

How do we know it's the steering rack?

I only assumed based on the title of the video I posted above (that, or I was googling steering rack noise).

Well, I hope I can just replace the tie rods because I do love my steering rack the way it is...In my car! I don't have any money right now to do repairs :( finally dipped below $1k in checking...still waiting for for my tax return :foottap

I just listened to the YouTube video and am guessing it's not FCABs. Kind of doubtful to me that it's the steering rack. Here are my guesses from most likely to least likely.

Swaybar links
Tie rod ends
Ball joints in FCAs
Strut mount/hat bearings
Steering rack
Steering column universal joint
Actual pirate ship, shrunken via black magic and hidden by your motor mounts

Can you put front on jack stands, remove one front wheel and replicate the sound? If yes then having a friend turn steering wheel while you listen and observe might isolate the creak.
