So my wife and I have been looking at this Silver Grey Sedan in Portland Oregon, and chose to move on because of the color (two greyish ZHP's seems to much) :

This is not an endorsement, nor do we have anything to benefit, but I do believe this is a clean, well maintained vehicle.

I've spoken to the shop that has maintained the car the last few years and have had nothing but good things to say about the car and owner. The owner has answered every question I have asked with great detail.

I have the Carfax and would be happy to pass it on.

Toddness thanks for sharing, looks clean in the pictures. I really want Silver Gray (the darker gray), but this is as close as I've seen in good condition.

Have you seen the car in person? Could you share some of the info you already have on it or I could contact the seller (but since you've probably asked most of the questions thought I'd ask you first) I'm on the other coast, so might just have to settle for having it shipped or fly out to see it. Nothing on the east coast that's in the condition I'd want.

Thanks for the help and if you have come across any Silver Gray Manual Sedans for sale please let me know.

I have not seen the car in person. I have had a pretty good dialog with the owner and called the shop where it is serviced. Though I won't endorse it as I mentioned, further due diligence would be expected.

I can tell you he's the 4th owner and he knows nothing of what happened with the car before he purchased it, though he has put some significant effort in the short time he's owned it.

I can't vouch for any of this of course as it's all talk, but I did get a good feeling about it. I have called / looked at a TON of these lately, and this one has stood out for me as the most desirable of the bunch over the last month or so.

I did make another post here about this car regarding the Carfax. The car must have spent a year or so in Europe, as the first US records start showing up at around 30K.

I'll keep posting things as I run across them. I have a good friend ( who I can blame for turning me on to BMW's 30 years ago) in Portland who forwards me on his local finds - as well as the CL scanning I do. Personally, I think Washington/Oregon cars are desirable from a caring owner, as they generally do not see sand/salt, nor do they suffer the effects of heat/sun stroke. If they are straight, they are great - lol.

Of course this car saw the rest of the US (NC/Texas) before arriving in Oregon a couple years ago.

I actually had the pleasure of test driving this car for a buddy fairly recently whos lives in Ashland and could not drive up to check it out. Definitely agree with the statement you made. Just have to be cautious of Oregon Coast cars, thats about it.
