View Full Version : Attempts at detailing
I know I'm going to get flamed for not having pics. I'll work on it once I get ahold of the car - it was raining yesterday and I don't have a big enough garage with enough light to get good photos.
I spent some time taking the scratches out of the door handle area with M105/205 combo and was really impressed with the results. I also spent time waxing the car since it needed a good coat. It doesn't need a clay or correction yet. The wheels are pitted chrome and piss me off but look great from a distance.

Edits ---- I'll try and get some shots of the car in the wild now that the weather is better.

You did that with M105 & M205 by hand? Looks good!

Door handles suck.
Nice work, it takes alot of effort to get the polish properly broken down by hand.

Nice work did.
I detailed the ZHP today and gave her a new stance. 15mm spacers in the rear and 12mm spacers in the front.
8-10 hours:
Wash
Clay
Wash
M105
M205
Chemical Guys M-Seal
DoDo Juice Purple Haze
Of course I picked one of the hottest days of the year so far (106-110F), but I started early so it did help a little.
After a long day of detailing I wanted to drive her. I took her out for a spin on some back roads and by the time I took pictures she already had a mouth full of bugs so I don't have any good frontal pics.

Thanks Dane. I cannot believe how sore and tired I am from detailing :blink.
It's nice to hear that it looks good because after spending that much time polishing, sealing, and waxing all you see is imperfections -- minor dents here, some rock chips there, scratches, etc.
The last thing I need to make it look like it isn't from 2005 is new headlight lenses - it would make a huge difference.

Looks great.
And +1 on the headlight lenses. I just replaced mine and the difference is amazing.
