Today while at work I noticed that I had some discoloring on my autodim mirror. I know Rob (Newjack) recently had an issue with his autodim mirror and I had sent him my BMW assist mirror. Anwyay I now find myself needing to address the same issue several people have had to in the past.

There is a solution to repair these mirrors and it does not break the bank to do so. I have been doing some research on this and found two companies that repair these mirrors. The one I'm going with, Sybesma Electronics is located in Michigan and charges $95 to do the repairs and send the mirror back. Usually the turnaround to the repaired mirror is from 24 to 72 hours of receipt.

Sybesma's contact info is: 1-800-456-4265

You ship your faulted autodim mirror to
581 Ottawa Ave, Ste. 100
Holland, MI 49423

Thanks for finding a solution Charlie. Too bad you need one so soon after being so kind to give yours away. Dang timing, happens all the time. You finally get rid of something that's been there for forever, and once you do, you need it!

Any idea if they can do the compass direction in the mirror, always liked that.

It's quite okay because he never, ever would have used that one. There's no going back from an oval mirror; the one he gave away was a rectangular one.

I've been doing the same research this week and found this company:

http://www.radar-mirror.com/V1.html

Not only will they repair it, but they will install a concealed radar display in the mirror. Pretty sick. If you've already got the radar detector and send in your own mirror they said they'd fix the yellowed auto dimming mirror as well install the display for a total of $399. Or $99 for just the repair. I'm so tempted!

The M5Board link is for radar-mirror.com. There's a more detailed thread there, which is why I placed that link :)

As BP stated, I wouldn't use the BMW Assist mirror anyway. I do have the OE mirror from my ZHP which I put back in so I can have the Oval in my ///M :)

I've had my ZHP mirror repaired by radar-mirror.com, and prior to that, had him install Homelink inside my M Coupe oval mirror. He does great work and turns your mirror around in 1 day or less.
