I wasnt sure where to put this so I figured general...

I dented the crap out of my hood last night. Do you guys think if I take the liner off and use a block and hammer I can pop it out? Or is that just a bad idea?

Pics of dent? Is it creased?

Justin, been trying to take a picture of it and I cant capture it. It is hard to see on the black with the lighting right now. I don't think it is creased, or might be very slightly creased in one spot

P.S. Drove by Bel Air BMW last night

Get a can of Computer Duster or any CO2 variety and get out the hair dryer. Heat it and then cool it rapidly by holding the can upside down and spray it. Should contract to it's natural shape.

I gotta ask, What did you do?
Also, paintless dent removal is an option. Usually $80-100 to have a dent removed.

Paintless option or watch the YouTube vids on computer cleaner/hair dryer action.

Is that for a single dent or for an entire panel? Or car???

Per dent most likely. My guy my whole car for $40. Hood, fender, door-5 dents in all. The hood was creased pretty bad down each one of the lines.

Is that the regular price, or the Dane-friggin'-Wilson special?

If you have never done things like this before, a huge helping of caution.

It is super easy to go from a little dent to a nasty crease or worse. I love to DIY, but some things do require professional technique.

It was my fault, I was trying to slide across the hood like they do in the movies. I know really dumb, even if it didn't dent. couple to many drinks. No I was not driving anywhere. Just had the urge to be a stunt man.

Oh dear Cody. That's very funny and took a lot of gumption to admit that to us. But don't worry, we've all wanted to do it.

Get back with us about the dent.

Gumption indeed. Good luck.

I've always wanted to seal my doors shut and remove my windows to enter and exit like Bo and Luke Duke.

If I unload the M3 it's time for a LCI front end. I can't handle a dented hood.

In that case Cody, get out the acetylene torch and go for it! Heck, if you're sliding across hoods, a little dent aint gonna stop you!!

Awesome. To be young again.

Cody, In college I got caught in a hail storm, probably a hundred small dents in my car. My uncle was the service manager at a GM dealership, I went to visit him with the insurance check in hand. He told me to park it in the middle of this dark black parking lot, leave the engine running and no a/c on, let the body absorb all the heat it could and had me wait about half an hour. Next he sent me across the street to buy a couple of bags of ice. We rubbed those bags of ice all around on that superheated car body and over 90% of the hail dents came out. He endorsed my insurance check, told me to use it for college and learn to live with the rest of the small dents, and so I did. Give that a try, it'll only cost you a bag of ice.

Hmm. I have a few nice sized dents on the hood of my car. I got caught on the highway and smashed by larger than golfball sized hail. Scare the hell out of me needless-to-say. I'm concerned of the location of the dents, once is right next to the roundel and the other is an inch-ish from the edge next to the fender. :\ There are a few smaller ones around, but those are the ones that you see looking at it. Since they are round impact dents, I have a feeling the heat/CO2 may work, I'll let you guys know when I get the chance.

Hope that works out. A good mobile dent repair guy can get those out no matter where they are. Mark gave me one in San Diego and he did an awesome job.
