I have a bit of an interesting project coming up. I'll be doing some work to my car, aka the Stealth Bomber. This is just a little teaser to start with.

Today I made a purchase. A rather healthy one. Something like $2,245.00, including shipping. I'm about to make two more purchases for the rest of the things that I'll be needing for this project. Once things start to show up, I'll be leaking more info as to what I'll be doing. Stay tuned, y'all!

P.S. I wanted to call this project Have Blue but, not everyone would get the reference.

For a differential? Cheap. Even for an M LSD conversion, $800-1500 is the normal rate.

Wow...that's not cool! What a bunch of bogus salesmanship. Hope it goes well tomorrow. We both have to fight for something that we've paid great money for.

X2.

I hope you have some sort of documentation as to what this deal for a "complete" engine was to entail, and I hope there was no "as is" fine print. I also hope they do the right thing.

Honestly Saratoga Classics is not at fault. The "salvage yard" they sourced the engine from is. I'm fairly certain that I will be sending this engine back and ordering another one. I will make sure that it comes from a reputable salvage yard this time.

Oh man! Sorry to hear Kyle. Hope you can get it straightened out without too much BS. The family has your back, if needed.

Well, it looks like its one of those 'as is' purchases. The guy explained that the oil filter housing was left off because it will leak oil in shipping. The valve cover nuts were left off to point out that the valve cover needed to be swapped with the one from my current motor. Water pump and thermostat were left off so that these common fail items would be replaced so they could not be blamed for future failure. He did remind me that this is an engine from a wrecked car. Stuff gets broken in wrecks. I'll be swapping several parts from my current motor into this one but, I will be buying a few new parts to replace the missing stuff. This is a bit of a downer but, what can I expect from a $1,900 engine? Well, live and learn.

So they won't take it back?

Horse shit. They shouldn't leave out items, because they believe you won't replace an item and don't want the liability. Just leave a fucking note that says what's wrong with it...seems obvious enough.

It wouldn't be too bad but, now I have to buy a DISA. Best I can find is on ECS for $193.

I'm going with the Gold Disa Valve just because. But as far as I know my DISA works fine. (Only 60K+ miles on it). I wasn't going to sell it, but I'll sell it you for a good price, and if there is anything wrong, you can use the G.A.S. upgrade and if it needs it, we can back that off the price.

I wouldn't pay $200 for a stock part that is known to have problems when you can get something like this:

http://germanautosolutions.com/DISA__GOLD__Valve.html

For $300

Just my .02

I just placed what I hope to be my last parts order. I got some other things that I needed as well as the DISA.

Gotta pick up some trim mounting pins from the stealership tomorrow. I'll have the basic trim updated then. The arm rest will be a little bit
