Hello all,

I just recently sold my E36 M3 in favor of a ZHP (that I have yet to find). I've been a long-time lurker here but hope to become a regular contributor. I've spent plenty of time on other forums over the years but have heard great things about this one.

Looking forward to getting to know you guys!

Ben

Yep, you guys have it right: SG sedan on alcantara, 6MT, preferably silver cube. Thanks for making a n00b feel so welcome!

I just sold my M a couple days ago but did one last photoshoot before it left. I'll try to get the pics edited and post them in this thread. Have a good weekend!

Was your car on CL? I have a brother in law in the Mpls area (Maple Grove), so I look at the Minneapolis CL quite often. I drooled over your car a few times. Ha! I sold my 95 M3 early last year, bought a 2005 ZHP and have since gone back to an E36 M3. Hopefully you don't regret selling your 95 as much as I do!

Oh, I already regret it quite a bit. Everyone who knows me is shocked. I'm just trying to focus on the excitement of getting a ZHP.

I didn't have it on CL, only M3forum.net and the BMWCCA classifieds.

May I ask why you made the decision to get out of an e36 M3 in favor of a ZHP?

Another guy here (MiniD) got out of an e36 m3 for one too... but low and behold, he sold that to get back into another e36 M3 lol

Pants so tight!!!

What rear spoiler is that?

///Maniak
08-15-2012, 05:30 AM
It's a replica of the UUC 3-way adjustable one. UUC got in hot water when all the forum guys found out they were using this spoiler, slapping a UUC sticker on it, and charging another $300. It's removable, too, so the new owner has the option to remove it.

Why did you sell?

+1. Even though I've said before that I don't like the E36 look, your car has changed my thoughts on that. By far my favorite E36 I've ever laid eyes on. Wow man, makes ME sad to think you sold her!

///Maniak

There were a couple reasons (which may not make sense to some):

1: I wanted to pay off some credit card debt that I racked up between graduating school and getting a job.
2: I had two vehicles (the M3 and an A4), and I'm trying to find one vehicle to drive year-round. If I'm going to drive one vehicle all the time, it's going to be a BMW. :)

Believe me, the decision was not an easy one. I would have loved to have kept the M3, but it's just not in the cards right now. The buyer did agree to give me dibs on it if/when he sells it, though!

That's odd...I didn't know the side view mirrors have different shapes. Like the driver side sticks out farther than the passenger side. Looks weird.

That is just a great looking car, Ben. My friend is desperately looking for a '99 three spoke wheel.

I love my ZHP a bit more than my e36 but than again I don't have an M3 and one that looked like yours. I'm curious what you got for that beast too. Welcome, the ZHP will not disappoint. Much different ride though, you will see.

Out of curiosity, have you driven ZHPs before to know that they're what you want to get into, or are you just diving in on the reputation we're upholding here?

Thanks for the congratulations/condolences, that was a good way to put it. I work at an indy BMW shop so I've been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to drive a few ZHPs. It's a different animal, indeed, but I love them.
