I vaguely remember someone having a wholesale style discount for Amsoil. I would greatly appreciate it, as I feel poor. Looking to get 7 Quarts of European 5w-30 or 5w-40. Let me know.

I have a hook up with AMSOIL. A friend of mine is a distributor, let me see what his prices are.

Honestly - if money is an issue, I would suggest going for non-Amsoil products. Generally a good bit cheaper; mobil1 and castrol are more than adequate for these cars. If you want something "exotic" Motul sells an LL-01 approved oil that may be worth looking into.

Granted I have no idea what the markup is like on Amsoil products. If it's large enough to make buying at wholesale cheaper than anything else, then disregard this (though I'd question if the quality is that much better if it's that cheap to make).

Also keep in mind that Amsoil last I checked only made LL-04 oils, not LL-01. Per BMW, LL-04 oils are only to be used in Diesel vehicles in the US since our fuel has more Sulfur than Euro gasoline.

Thanks Terra. Added your explanation below. I can never remember the verbage on this one.

But....we confirmed Amsoil does not make an LL-01 approved oil, correct?

The NEW Amsoil 5w-40 DOES meet LL-01:
http://www.amsoil.com/StoreFront/efm.aspx

API SN/SM
ACEA A3/B3, A3/B4
BMW LL-01
Mercedes-Benz 229.3, 229.5
Porsche A40
Renault 0710, 0700
Volkswagen 502.00, 505.00

BUT :
Pennzoil Euro Ultra 5w-40 is available w/ free shipping from Amazon for $50 !!! :)
Less complicated to acquire, and it's a very well reputed oil for our cars, and it's LL-01 certified.

and it can be even cheaper if u get it regularly:
" Sign up for automatic deliveries of this item and get an extra 15% discount. ..."
That's what I run in my ZHP right now and I have signed up for regular deliveries and it costs me only $42 per 6-pack.

$42 per case is a decent price. How does that work with the regular deliveries? I just bought a case of Mobil 1 of Amazon and it was $50.71 with Prime membership.

Great prices!

Additionally....you can easily find filters for $5 each...buying a case of 10.

My goal whenever changing my oil is to come in at less than $50, which is a 50% savings.

Regular (actually "automatic" delivery, as Amazon calls it) deliveries means you get the item at a regular interval of your choice - you "subscribe" for that item on amazon, and choose your interval, and it will be automatically delivered to you according to that interval - w/ free shipping and at the 15% off price (15% off of the 'normal' price when you buy it individually every time)

You can change the interval, skip a delivery, or stop it at any time.
