I have seen this the past few times I have washed my car and today after it snowed last night. There is condensation around the back part of my sunroof glass. Is this a bad seal?

Sorry for the flash but I couldn't capture the condensation otherwise.

Chris
Likely the seal going bad but here's a cheap way to buy yourself some more time. Get a can of silicone spray and liberally spray the rubber seal with it. The silicone will breathe some life back into the rubber and help it fluff up to restore itself a bit. I try to treat all of my rubber seals on the car with silicone several times a year, an old trick learned from my uncle who was a Buick/Pontiac/GMC service manager for over 2 decades.

Awesome thanks. Is there a way to buy just the seal? The only thing I saw on ECS was the entire assembly for like $800!!

Even if you could just buy the new seal.....how does it get installed?

That's what I've been thinking about...

You will have to remove the sunroof glass itself. I know you can get the seal separately from a dealer, it will probably be $50 or $60, but thats better than $800. Getting the glass out is no problem, going back in is another story. There is a special tool designed to measure the height of the glass in the front and rear. If not then you will run into problems with wind noise at speed. Even when functioning properly the seal will let a good bit of water go by, thats why the sunroof cassette has drains. I wouldn't be to worried about the condensation.

In addition to that....Bentley has an adjustment procedure to raise and lower, how the sunroof sits. Looks pretty straight forward.

MBZHPO5, request P/N sir....to seal.
