I ordered new headlight gaskets and clear fog lights. So sexy. Can't wait to put them in. They even come with bulbs. Nice.

Anyway, in one of the boxes this part was with it. It has a piece of tape with "7049" on it. What is it?

That's a temperature sensor; goes in the space below one of the fogs (can't remember which side) & is commonly broken / ripped off on curbs or the like.

So I got a free part or am I supposed to replace it if I break something replacing the foglights? heh.

You won't break it, they're not that close to each other and you don't need to touch it to replace the fog lights. Feel underneath the bumper in front of the driver side wheel, there is a recess where the sensor goes

Yup. Looks like a free Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) sensor.

Pretty cool - it's good to have an extra, those sensors are known to fail occasionally. Mine failed this last summer and caused my AC to stop kicking in since it thought it was -39 outside (in reality, it was 100° lol...)

Good to know. I shall put it someplace safe in case mine dies. Do you know how much these run usually?
