For the past few months I've been debating whether or not to purchase these. Part of me wants the more aggressive look, and part of me thinks it will ruin the look. For some reason I cannot fathom, I feel the black grilles will look bad on a grey vert.

I love 'em, but you might be right. Not sure how'd that look on that color. Hopefully we can find an example for comparison. Gonna hold off my vote until I can get a visual.

You might like the color matched ones...the slats are matte black but the edge around Is color matched to the car. I got mine from Jlevi...$50

No offense, but I don't see how people like those. It doesn't make sense to me.

OP needs to stick with chrome for contrast.

OP stick with chrome grilles. I think your color looks very "clean" with the chrome grilles and silver wheels.

I've been wondering the same thing..I think I'll just try the performance grills out, and if I don't like them I'll sell them to one of the local guys.

Performance grilles....aren't they like 2x more expensive than just getting aftermarket ones? I was planning on getting them until I noticed that Khoalty had the gloss (piano) black ones for only like $40 I think. Fitment was 9/10.

I think just the flat black looks cheap but when their painted it makes them look like they didn't just come out of an ebay special. I do think however it doesn't look as good with certain colors.

Check out my sig for an example...still feel like there is plenty of contrast, then again my car is lighter in color then the grey..

Perf grills aren't THAT expensive. Check out Tischner (sp?) or a few others.

OEM fitment > aftermarket. Performance Grilles or bust.

From a GS3, this was sent.

I agree with performance grills. I have some cheap matte black ones and they are crap. Performance grills are like $80ish.

Yea I'd always rather go OEM too. I think I agree with johal. It is clean with the chrome.

Guess I got lucky. I have Khoalty's piano black gloss ones and they've been great. No broken clips or anything and they still shine.
Cost me like $40 I think.

BMW Performance grills are just as good as OEM.....they come from BMW performance division. They are not the same as aftermarket black grills...

I have seen the performance griles on an E90 and I think they are awesome. They feel very high quality and the fitment is perfect, because it is made my BMW as Charlie mentioned.

Painted grilles seems cool too. I think it only works on black, silver?, red, and blue. I am more of a chrome grilles guy. So if you ask me, 9/10 times I will say keep the chrome :D

Yea I know. I meant that if I do get them, the oem performance ones are the only ones I'd get. My mistake.

Yep. Same here. No issues. Great fitment.
