I have light grey interiors. I'm contacting the seller to do a fitting test.

Unless your interior is a special order Dove Grey, which I don't think was possible unless BMW Individual offereed it up, then the greys won't match. Dove Grey is a very light grey; E46's came with a slightly darker grey. I think you would notice a difference...

For fitment, the posts on those look straight. I thought ours was curved slightly?

X2. I have Dove Gray in my E36 and it is a very different color to what was offered in the E46 in standard option form. Nonetheless I have always admired the M stripes. Let me know if you need me to see if the headrest from my E36 will work in my E46. (Probably best to PM me).

E36 dove grey has more white in it, the E46 has more grey in it. It will be a noticeable difference..

Here

Those are some nice looking headrests, maybe you could swap in some E46 M3 headrests?

if I'm gonna do something like this I don't want vert headrests, I want '96-97 sedan headrests...

E36 headrests will not fit the E46 seats without modifications due to the difference in distance between the support posts. If you jammed it in it may work, but I see problems here.

Also included a shot of Dove Grey interior. Sorry, my zhp has the natural brown scheme.

@Johal...thanks for the color comparison. That was what I was looking for....
@JP.....You are so right....Vaders are the sh^$ but heavier. Try getting one in good condition and heated seats. How about direct mount?
@Brett...thanks for the post comparison. Looks like the E36 has a wider stance.

A follow-up to the seller of the headrest. The seller lives in SouthEast San Diego (rough area) and works in South Chula Vista if you guys know the area. I tried to set up a meeting to do a test fit and color matching. The seller is not very motivated to do a meet or willing to schedule a meet on a neutral ground like somewhere in Qualcomm in Mission Valley. Since I live in North County. He prefers to meet further south in his neck of the woods. Either weekdays or weekends. I get a lot of excuses on meeting times and area. My feeling is he is trying to hide something.

Also FWIW, one would think that you would want to be sure any headrest used is firmly secure in case you ever really need it to protect you in a crash. Maybe seller is lazy & doesn't want to drive very far? Giving him the benefit here, though it may not be the case.
