View Full Version : Owning a ZHP makes heroin addiction seem like a vague desire for something salty

I had an '05 Imola Red 6sp ZHP for nearly two years. Last September I got myself a dog, and then decided that in the name of practicality I needed an automatic, 4-door vehicle. Sold my ZHP about a month ago and replaced it with an '06 Mercedes C230 (auto, 4 door, mint condition, low mileage, etc.). I haven't had a good night's sleep since.

The Merc is a great car - it's comfy, handles decently well, quiet, practical and... so god damn boring. Kill-me-now kind of boring.

Last few days all I've been doing is flipping through ZHP classifieds.

I've all but decided that I'll be putting the Merc up for sale in a month or so, and picking up a $500 beater while I search for the perfect ZHP: sedan, 6 speed, and imola red.

That's ok, we all make mistakes :fistpump

I'll keep a lookout for one, I'm assuming leather is preferred due to the dog situation? I only hope I haven't inadvertently perpetuated a "keep dog vs. alcantara" dilemma...

Thanks! Realistically though, I'd have to sell the current car before I'd be ready to jump on any purchase, and I'm not ready to do the switch right now anyways, so I'm at least a few months away from having the cash ready to buy a car.

I'm not concerned about the interior too much - either black or Alcantara would be just fine. I had the rear seats covered in my ZHP w/ the OEM seat covers for E92, and I've got the same OEM seat covers for E90 in my current Merc - these would go into the (eventual) ZHP.

Well that was short. LOL

If you want info re: importing from the US let me know - it's super easy and you'll have access to WAY more cars.

Importing from the US is what I'll likely end up doing. I've brought a bike across before, so I know the general process. I did some research last night and it looks like there's a bit more hassle involved with bringing a BMW across (the "recall clearance letter" is to be replaced with a "warranty service record" or something like that from a dealership), but it's not too bad of a process at all.

I did find quite a few decent looking specimens in eastern Canada, so grabbing a car from there is always an option, too. Fly there, drive back kind of thing.

So here's a random question: tire pressure monitoring system - was it ever available on sedans? I had it on my coupe, but from all the sedan ads I've browsed, I didn't see a single one with the button for this option.

I was carving up a bunch of back roads heading out to Philadelphia today.

I'm pretty sure there was a smirk on my face.

I always make sure to be very mindful of those moments so that when I'm bitching about having to replace some inferior plastic or rubber component every 20k miles I remember why it's worth it.

Glad you're looking for another one.
