2004 Imola/black, 6 MT 54k no mods. completely stock untouched. $15k

I'd post the ad but I'm afraid someone will poach it while I procrastinate:scratchinghead

Car looks real clean in the pics. Some headlight fogging which I guess means more highway miles than city.

Leather looks firm in the drivers' seat..no wear/wrinkle marks. Passenger side looks like nobody ever sat there.

Paint is 9.9 our of 10. No body dings

I see alot of low mileage ZHP's going for more on AUTOTrader.com. Most from Dealers asking for the moon$$

It is a sedan

Haggle as much as you can and buy that damn car. If it is as good as it is portrayed, of course.

See it in person before signing the check, pictures can really make it look better than it is. #truth

I need to haggle some.

I'ts about 800 miles away. I might fly there and drive it home. Flight is around 275..gas probably 400..1 night motel appx. 75..expenses 40.

.If I did that I could barter with CASH

Shipping I'm guessing would be close to that

I'll ask him for a video that I can post up

It does sound good. I would counter for 12 and plane ticket.

MooseX
05-15-2013, 04:37 PM
whoa..now that's some hagglin'. I was going to say 14 not a penny more. I know that's not really haggling but right now I'm vulnerable...

I'm ready to BUY. I'm ripe for the taking and I can't help it.

It's pretty damn clean. I can't be the only one interested....

It's a fresh ad. He's probably not in the hagglin' mode yet...54k that's low miles for sure. It's a pristine example. I've seen some of the used car gippers ask 20k for something like this one

Cash rules everything everywhere. It is an offer that you want to meet inbetween, at the same time you express that you are not infering he is weak/desperate.

Yep. Cash is king. Hit him hard, 12k is pretty low, even for me, LOL. I would hit him with 12,750 and work up to 13,500-14K MAX. It's used car, it WILL have some faults, point them out, check out the maintenance etc.. Really you need to see it in person, and it comes down to what YOU feel like is a good price for the car, and if you are financially comfortable with dropping 14k.

Get a PPI done. That will find any mechanical faults that you might miss.

You are probably too late at that price. This car is worth $18k private party or $22k at EAG. If available, you should place deposit at asking price.

not late yet...he just emailed me...but that could change in any moment

Don't waste too much time because EAG will come and swoop that sucker up, then charge $19-21k for it.

Good deal. Seal that deal now if you're ready. Please do see it or have someone else see or drive it first though. $15k is already a good deal, but it never hurts to haggle a bit. $14500 is probably the best you can do considering he just posted it. If it is as you described, then you won't see another one like that in a while and others may be on it very soon... so don't wait and count your eggs.

Ask your brother to take the car out for a spin, and get a PPI done. Even if your brother doesn't know squat about cars, the PPI will tell you a lot of info.

+1 a PPI will certainly help smooth over some of the fears about buying long distance

I'm workin on it.

I'm starting to wonder a little about this one. You never see 'deals' in lot ads.

He said the title was clean. There's gotta be a catch

Avetiso
05-15-2013, 11:00 PM
I don't mean to be a little shit and buzzkill, but there often is a catch.

You'll kick yourself for not trying, though. It'll haunt you forever as the ZHP that got away. :rofl

MooseX
05-15-2013, 11:04 PM
no buzzkill. first off it's a CAR LOT.

How many times has someone said I got a great deal from such and such used car sales? Like never

I'm sure I'll get some kind of response by tommorow. I'll be asking more tech questions. Forget email I want to talk to the guy to see just how greasy he is

+1 on the drive by your brother and a PPI. I had one done recently for ~$100. Try bimmershops.com to find an indy shop near the car. Shoot for ~$13,500 or less. Hard to negotiate long distance and when you get there you don't have much leverage other than going to your brothers and booking a return flight.

It's a decent deal if the car is ready to go. Just to mention something, if it needs suspension work and new tires we are looking at $2k easy and that brings you up to $17k.

MooseX

just in case I need those parts I actually found a full set of 20k ZHP suspension parts near me + a full ZHP part out in the same area

The place sent me a short video a little while ago. not really hollywood quality but the car appears clean. So did my last girlfreind when I met her in that dimly lit club...
