Got a set of OEM center cap decals! Ready to roll!
Oh wait...
Tires...I still need those too...damn...
The unsightly white blotch of base fabric on my worn Alcantara bolster was bothering me every time that I went to get in the car. It got to the point that I finally contacted BMW's Director of Easily Worn Fabric Engineering and was informed that a light, two coat base layer of gray followed with two more coats of black would yield a perfect match for the OE 9002 Alcantara.

I was driving the red car this morning and found myself targeting the most jarring potholes in an attempt to get the god awful blower chirp to stop after some surprise railroad tracks had set it to squealing. I don't know how many of you guys have dealt with that issue, but my last ZHP did the same thing and it drove me banana sandwich.
We're planning on taking the red car up to the mountains tomorrow and I realized that 3 hours with the incessant chirping wouldn't do any favors for my relationship. So I picked up a can of dry grease and tore into it tonight.

I read enough horror stories about removing the blower motor to be content with leaving it in place and guiding the little spray tube down to the bearings.

Did it work? Hell if I know. Figured it was worth a shot to avoid replacing the whole blower assembly though.
Oh and while I was under the hood, I went ahead and replaced both intake boots because they looked kind of old and cracky. Turns out neither one was torn anywhere, so I ripped them to shreds during removal to make myself feel better. This is what I found when I pulled the DISA valve:

Now I'm no gynecologist, but I don't think there's supposed to be a bunch of fuel in there. I had assumed that the stumbling at startup and subsequent rich codes were due to faulty O2 sensors, but this has me thinking it's kind of flooding...which I didn't think was possible on a modern vehicle.
Someone do me a solid and tell me something that makes sense.
The blower replacement isn't that bad. I've done two and assisted on another. Get the one from the x3 as it's cheaper.
