OK - I read the whole thread.
1. I want pizza now.
2. The thread is even funnier reading it in Billy Mays' voice
3. I want a red E46
4. For the locals in CLT and surrounding, we have to hang out next time I am down there
2. Yes, you are correct.
4. I am in CT. I live right on the NY/CT border but travel to CLT, Lake Norman, Mooresville quite a bit. I am a regular on the HPN --> CLT flights.
It even had the little clip weights on some of the vanes where someone had balanced it at the factory. Can't believe it was only $50.

I live in uptown and am far too prissy to visit the suburbs but we can definitely get up the next time you fly into CLT.
Did you ever install your Bav Sound Stage 1 kit? Thoughts?
What happened to the wiper arms?
Uhh kinda. I put the Bavsound speakers in one half of the car to see if I noticed a difference in sound quality from the OE HK speakers...and I don't remember which side it was, if that tells you anything. I guess I should finish out the install and see if it sounds any better and report back. I managed to get the driver's side off and reseat it in the correct position, so it fixed my problem of it tucking underneath the passenger wiper. Passenger side wiper is permanently bonded so if I ever have to change the cowl out I'll just sawzall that ass.
Those wheels are stunning.
What’s their model name?

thx bruh!
They're Alzor 020's in 18x9 et42 and actually weigh a few pounds less than the OE Style 135's. I'm planning to change them out once I decide on their replacement. They're too much with my already obnoxiously colored car, but I think they'd be great on a more subtle silver or gray.

I've also been thinking arc-8s for a while, but I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger. Too busy? Too common? tOo LiGhT? I don't know. Something is holding me back.
I'm flat out addicted to the clean look of 5 spokes on the facelift coupe tho:

Nate, I just read your entire build thread, and enjoyed the heck out of it. You had me laughing throughout. This part had me laughing the most, because I am too familiar with the smell of diff oil. It's so nasty. On my last oil change, I thought I had a filter but was mistaken, so decided I'd let the oil really drain out for a long time while I went to pickup a filter from Hendricks in Huntersville. When I got back, there was a massive puddle of oil under the car. I had forgotten to remove the drain plug in the oil container under the car. The cheapest Walmart kitty litter, and a little degreaser took care of that mess. Hopefully the smell is gone by now, but if not, check out Super Clean in the purple jug. Great stuff. And congrats on your marriage. I hope you still get to buy cool toys from time to time.

Haha thanks dude! I love sharing disaster stories. Always reminds me of the best bit of advice I received from my first boss when I was starting out in engineering:
Makes me feel better when seemingly every garage project has some level of "ah shit."Quote:
Everything always takes longer than it does.
I know that's right. My wife was leaving for Atlanta Mon morning and needed an oil change in the MINI Countryman. It's ridiculous where they place that oil filter housing. Well, my 15 minute oil change turned into an overflow coolant tank issue. Luckily, it was just an o-ring swap on a fitting on the bottom of the tank and I had spare coolant, but it was cold Sun, and I nearly froze trying to get all that wrapped up before dark.
Great quote!

ZHP PIZZA!!! Oh buddy, I've been stalking your hard around here and E46F. We've shared our short talks too. Love the build thread and glad I found it! I'm personally looking forward to a wheel change! It's been a while since I've seen this kind of passion in E46, it's uplifting. Keep up the good work!

If "T H I C C" isn't stitched into the wheel, then I don't want nuthin' to do with it.
