Stuart, how hard is it to pull the headliner on the wagon?
I have always wanted to re do mine in black suede, and then get either E39 M5 or E46 M3 sun visors.

Finally replaced the final stage resistor. What a relief.

Finally got tired of looking at it. Had the trim professionally wrapped.
Looks awesome Stuart!!! You never cease to amaze, that's for sure!!! :thumbsup
Received the M3 shift knobs today. Not gonna actually use it on the E21 but that's the car I have with me right now. Will be sending one up to Derek since we talked about this before I ordered them

that looks like the MKI/MKII golf ball shift knobs that VW used to sell back in the day. feels good in your hand
that wrapped trim looks great. SOOO much better than the chrome, especially on a black car.
Yeah, it looks like the Kamei knob but it's from a M3
more parts acquisitions today: ordered smoked fender and turn signal indicators from Khoalty. figured id give them a try and see how they go.
Uggh....long list!
Rebuilt DISA with GAS kit - it needed it, flapper was loose on the shaft (rotated freely) and the pin had just started to come out.
Removed and cleaned idle control valve
Replaced water pump (Stewart) w/ECS aluminum pulley, thermostat, expansion tank, idler pulleys, and tensioners.
Getting the lower intake boot off was a bitch...both clamps were oriented in a way that made it nearly impossible to get them loose. Took a good hour just for that... Also, the bolt head on the hydraulic tensioner was fubbared, so I couldn't get that off - had to cut the belt, then remove the tensioner with the pulley in place, also a bitch! THEN, the new pulley wouldn't work because I couldn't fit a socket into the recess to go on the new hex-head bolt I bought. Did fit in the old pulley though, so that will work until I get a replacement bolt that works with the new pulley.
So, it took all day, but I have a rebuilt DISA, a cleaned/functional idle control valve, and a refreshed cooling system. Other than replacing trans & diff fluids, I think I'm up to date on preventive maintenance! Now, if we could only get decent weather to drive the car in... :(
Not ZHP.
Either way......Sold my family school bus last week. Turned around bought a 2003 Nissan Crew Cab short bed. Need this to go up the rough hills for the range. Been on the market for a truck just for the range. In the meantime, been doing the maintenance for rough duty ahead. The truck will probably need hazardous duty pay weeks ahead.
