absolutely - as of this morning they are out and in storage. :)
which means... the new M3 seats are IN! had a 4hr road trip in them this afternoon - it took some time to adjust, but overall i love them. really happy.

installed a new valve cover and gasket last night - mine had some cracks in 3 of the plug wells - they were actually so small that i couldn't see them, but i found a small amount of oil in one plug well and oil residue in two others. i needed to replace the VCG anyway (mine has been weeping at the back right corner for some time), and i got 10% off at tischer, so... $318USD later, problem solved. :)
i also rebuilt the VANOS at the same time with the beisan kit and spent the better part of an hour cleaning up old oil caking/residue from the weeping VCG, etc. the VANOS rebuild had been on my list for a few months, glad i got it done - the intake VANOS piston moving in/out so freely that it would slide if i turned the VANOS assembly upside-down!
haven't driven the car yet (finished at 1AM), but it started and idled fine, and is not leaking oil - always a plus. :)

Nice work Peter. On my list of things to do.
Great work.
The friendliest forum on the planet.
thanks guys! work was busy today, finally got out for a drive tonight - top end feels much better already (VANOS seals). best of all - no burning-oil-on-the-manifold smell at idle with the heat on. :)
