The new Mexican made Mann filter is surprisingly good quality. It is identical to the OEM German MANN filter. I reckon I will change the filters out every other oil change (every 15k).. I also cleaned both MAF's while I was there.Quote:

Unfortunately 3 of the 4 tabs on the intake snorkel broke in transit, the seller is going to make compensation for the damage, I'll try to figure out a way to piece it back together by gluing it, somehow. The boots will go on one of the cars, I like them, they're pretty nice. The TB, I don't know what I'm going to do with that yet.
Originally had planned to install the TB on my sparkling graphite coupe and get a tune. But after Preston installed the same TB on his car and got the tune, it's a pretty nice performance bump. I made a deal with my 2nd son, Brett, straight A's for end of the year grades along with a certain dollar figure and he can buy my coupe. We received his midterm grades this week, he has 6-A's and 1-B, he's working 2 part time jobs, plus playing travel and varsity soccer, he's a very busy guy and I think he's going to meet my challenge on both fronts. And I couldn't be happier for him, I'll absolutely cover my side of the bet but as a brand new driver he doesn't need the extra power that a TB and tune deliver. So I'm going to hold off on installing the TB for now, just store it in the garage. I might install it on the wife's car instead or might decide to sell it, I don't know right now. If I should choose to sell it, I'll list it on the private side of our forum first.

Don't know about that David, ask the boys and to them I can be a PITA sometimes, maybe many times. Just keep trying to find the right challenges that will motivate them in the directions I'd like to see them go, sometimes it works and sometimes not so much.

I hear you John. And what is it with you tennis nuts? When I told GiGi I might not install it on my car due to Brett likely succeeding in being able to buy it, she immediately said she'd take it, and she doesn't even know what it is or what it does. Her car has one of the worst 4K stumbles I've seen, it needs a tune so if I'm going to tune it anyway I might toss the TB in there as well. The part that has me concerned is I'm thinking you need an exhaust better than the OEM to get the most from your tune because the stock resonators are so restrictive. So I'll drop my 15th hint here, Derek's HKS catback would be perfect for my wife's convertible, not too loud but flows so much better than stock.
