Thanks for stickying DW! I have noticed many photographers around the sight and am farly new to the photography world and was wondering if anyone has any advice on good wide angle lenses that work well with shooting cars and generally landscape? I have a Canon T3i with a 18- 200 EF- S lenses as my standard
Thought it was this one

I was thinking that the wide angle, no zoom and a low apurature would do the trick on improving the picture quality but if you think I could just use my standard at 18mm then that would be good enough right?
I think knowing how to use it, the settings on the camera, the post processing tools and lighting (either natural or from a flash) make more of an impact than a lens purchase.
Think of it in these terms - a lens is a tool just like an impact gun/air wrench, a hydraulic lift or a 250px mechanics socket set is for your car. Just because you have it all doesn't mean your car will run better. You need to know how to use it all to be able to perform the tasks needed to make the final product. Same thing with photography. Many people think the equipment is the key to getting better and while it helps, it's not a factor until you master the basics. I've seen people shoot published novel covers with a $26 plastic Holga camera and a flashlight.
Also 18mm is pretty wide angle as it is so you won't be making much difference there than standing 3-4ft further away in most cases would.
