I'm guessing insurance won't go up for something like this....
See I pay $130 a month with a perfectly clean record, full insurance, AND a clean owned title. That's a single car. I don't know how you guys don't get shafted on insurance, but the second a claim goes on record here where I live, rates skyrocket. It has happened to two different people I know (one was vandalism and the other a hit and run on their car)...
This area isn't exactly what I would call "friendly" for insurance.
Bridgeport sucks......sounds like you need a change of scenery BP...
WEST COAST.....
Yeah in Canada, any comprehensive claim is just that. It doesn't count towards your premium when you can't control acts of other people.
Our family history has had many people at fault hitting us and that party's insurance is responsible for paying for all damages. That's why their insurance goes up.
We can even claim if trucks dump a load onto the highway at highspeed, sandblasting the whole front end and chipping the window. We just pay a comprehensive, whatever your amount is and everything is repainted/restored/replaced to original condition. Insurance premium is not affected.
When shopping for insurance here, the companies care about whether anything has happened at all. So, let's hypothetically say I've had 3 accidents and none of them were my fault. Even though it was handled through the other person's insurance, whatever companies I'm getting quotes from for insurance are going to see that and base rates on that. So, even though it wouldn't be my fault in any of those instances, I'd still get slightly higher rates than if there was absolutely nothing on my record at fault or not. Insurance is literally financial rape with almost nothing to gain from having it other than "complying with the law". Another stupid thing is when another drive on your policy gets into an accident, because that incident, even if it isn't your car or even you driving, will still raise your rates for your own car just because it's on the same policy.
I feel it should be illegal for insurance companies to raise rates for 1) accidents that aren't your fault, and 2) accidents that occur to someone else's car with someone else driving, even though it's on your policy.
Installed a new core support, will go pick up the painted hood, fender, and Zender kit today. Not sure if I'll put the kit on before autocross, probably after
