I think that's diagnostic criteria for clinical psychosis, honestly.
I am surprised I just noticed that. I am all about video like that for restorations. I will watch them during the weekend.
Did I say that your cars and projects are rad??!!!

Distilled water? Craziness. Gatorade is best.
The revival of the black E31 from Malaga is underway! Already found few hack-jobs from the previous incompetent mechanic and 2 main reasons that would stop the car from starting.

Looks like you got another influx on the last video.
Yeah, 250k views and 6k+ subs in 6 days.. Insane! I'm speechless. Never thought it'd get this far, most of the time I don't know what I'm doing, lol.
They do, yes. I got approved for monetization on January 1st. I don't fully understand how it works either but I read that it mostly depends on where your views are coming from. Most of mine are coming from the US, then the UK, Germany... The ads from the US are the ones that will get you the most money is what everyone says.
The latest video has made $361 in estimated revenue which depends on how you look at it can be good or low. I'm not complaining at all since I spent an enormous amount of time to make it so getting anything back is more than welcomed. I'm certainly not expecting to make living out of this.
I love working on these neglected BMWs and making videos proved to be a lot of work but I also found it fun and enjoyable. We'll see what the future brings but reading all of the positive comments and messages has been great and big motivation to continue.
Great work as always, Sreten! Loving the videos, and you definitely deserve the views and subscribers. Compared 99% of car channels out there (with "project" cars, click-bait, etc), your videos are incredibly refreshing to watch.
Keep going! Loving the V12 BMW love, there's so many neglected and abused ones here in the US.
That's awesome Sreten, glad you're getting some $ for your efforts! Keep em coming!
Don't be so bashful. Own it like Henry Winkler - your videos are engaging, humorous, and informative.

Sreten,
Over the weekend I watched all videos starting from the first introduction of silver 750li and up the most recent episode. You're doing a fantastic job! I love restoration videos and your format is excellent.
Keep up a great job and I am looking forward for more episodes!
P.S. it is great to see that such as amazing machines are returning back to life.

Everybody has to start somewhere. Just remember us plebs when you make it big.
Thank you, Chaplian! I'm planning to keep the content relevant and to be all about the car in the spotlight, close up shots of repairs and so on.
The E31 has fallen off the map and so many have been neglected over the years so it feels good to bring attention to it.
Thanks, Will! Def feels great to get something back.
Hah, I appreciate it, Will! My girlfriend claims I'm not funny and if she met me now and saw the videos, she wouldn't date me, lol.
That's so great to hear! I had a vision in my head how I wanted to go about the videos and I wasn't sure how it would turn out but really makes me happy when I read positive comments like this.
Engineering that went into the 8 series back in the day is mind-boggling, the green one was sitting for 10 years and after service and some repairs, it's back in business.
Never, ZHPfamilia is still my favorite place to hang out and share my adventures. : )
I'm making some slow progress on the E31 from Malaga.
Previous incapable mechanic, if we can call it a mechanic, used electrical tape on the wires inside the fuel pump assembly and glue to patch up a 30-year-old strainer.

Sreten, as always, excellent video!
I was very surprised by how rusted both mufflers are. Engine bay looks very clean thought.
You are hunting in Spain only or it is just happening randomly? Southern France should have clean cars as well, right?
Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Thank you!
It's actually very typical to see that because of condensation, every E31 I owned that was sitting for a long time had this issue. The rest of the exhaust system is perfect but mufflers are the weak link.
I'm hunting all over Europe but lately Spain has been lucky for me. Anywhere in Southern Europe should be fine, Italy, Spain... I always wanted to go to Southern France, would be cool if something pops up over there.
Btw, I got it running over the weekend! - https://www.instagram.com/p/B8WPyNci..._web_copy_link
Mini update.
The reason why E31 wouldn't start: bad fuel pumps, ignition wires and ultimately clogged fuel injectors that looked like this when I pulled them out.
https://i.postimg.cc/KY5Xf7sK/20200202-113903.jpg
https://i.postimg.cc/BbkRbmtz/20200202-115927.jpg
After cleaning and servicing them.

https://i.postimg.cc/wxGCwjFk/20200208-113659.jpg
I also threw a new radiator at it. Based on the previous E31 experience where the original one started leaking shortly after it was brought back to life this seemed like a smart move.
https://i.postimg.cc/sDGtqCNC/20200209-110835.jpg
https://i.postimg.cc/K8Xdyp6k/20200209-110845.jpg
It's running but really rough upon a cold start so that's next to sort out.
I finally ponied up for a smoke machine as it's a useful tool to how around and confirmed my suspicion that the intake manifold gaskets are leaking on one side.
https://i.postimg.cc/N0GypDfS/20200212-193058.jpg
https://i.postimg.cc/TYmWwh47/20200212-193102.jpg

https://i.postimg.cc/mgyzYJR7/20200212-192903.jpg
So intake manifolds need to come out and gaskets resealed. On top of that, I can't bleed the brakes as the ABS pump is 100% clogged and brake fluid won't flow through it. So still lots to do.
I always wanted to get Milwaukee cordless ratchet but they are around $250 in Europe and I didn't feel like spending the money so I got the Chinese copy instead. It actually feels heavy and sturdy and gets the job done well. I'll be using for the next 30 days and decide if I want to keep it but so far for $55 not bad at all.

Since 8er can finally move under its own power, I drove it off the lift to attend the M5 and replace thrust arms.
https://i.postimg.cc/2jt4ys86/20200213-135659.jpg
As I mentioned earlier, Lemforder bushings spilled their guts after just 12k miles, probably even earlier and it was just getting progressively worse.

https://i.postimg.cc/TYV2Wbqs/20200213-180238.jpg
Ball joints are still good but bushings are very toasty. I actually wrote an email to ZF in Germany and asked if they are aware of this as I've heard and read so many cases of these bushings failing prematurely on E39. They said they had issues with these bushings but resolved them from 2018 onwards. My thrust arms are from 2016 according to the date stamp.
Whether they actually resolved it I have no idea but I ended up going with TRW this time. Hopefully they last longer than Lemforder did. The rest of the suspension I changed back in May of 2018 with Lemforder parts and all of that it holding up fine.

https://i.postimg.cc/NF14cbqY/20200213-175328.jpg
I still have to drive on the Autobahn to see if steering wheel shake under braking is gone, but just on the way home last night the difference is so noticeable. I can't believe how long I drove with busted thrust arm bushings.
Next stuff that needs fixing on the M5 before TUV inspection in May: rear brakes, diff leak, shifter linkage and likely new tires.
Also, out of 4 power steering lines that this car has, I replaced 3 and yesterday I noticed that the 4th is leaking as well. The one that goes from the PS pump to the steering box. Looks like great fun to replace it and a pretty good hit on the wallet at a whopping $185 price tag.
https://i.postimg.cc/1t4D7hZV/20200213-175336.jpg
I'm back on E31 now which I'll hopefully finish soon so I can move it. I really want to get back on E38 and get it ready for TUV, it should've been ready a long time ago but I'm really struggling for free time to attend all of these cars. The rusty black 750iL I haven't touched since I bought it in September. I'm currently trying to cut my working hours to 4 days in a week so that way I get 1 full day to break and fix stuff in the garage.
Cheers for now.

Got my first business inquiry, a company called Litcarlight wanted to sponsor one of the videos.
https://i.postimg.cc/bYnNKP04/Capture.jpg
I politely told them Nein. I wouldn't be caught dead with one of these in my car so I don't see how I could advertise a product like this.
I'm holding off for Koni, ZF, Liqui Moly... 😅
Man those are hideous, good job turning them down.
That’s crazy about the thrust arm bushings leaking that fast. I replaced both of the ones on my X3 within a 6 month window, one with a Lemforder and one with a Meyle HD (Lemmy was backordered the second time and I was in a rush). Hopefully the Lemforder doesn’t leak on me, that was about 12k miles ago.
The E60’s starting to get a little wobble at highway speeds. I need to inspect the thrust arms (almost identical mileage as the X3) but I just have zero motivation to go lay down on the cold concrete garage floor.
But it benefits everyone from the track day addict to the daily commuter...
I think this was the problem specifically on E39 only, X3 should be fine.
I still have wobble under braking at around 50-60 mph, less than before but still there. I think my rotors are toast and since I have D2Racing BBK, new rotors and pads are $615. That's the cheapest I found them from a supplier in the UK, if I approach D2Racing directly it's $1.150.
I finished working on the 8er and it has been successfully revived!
Since getting the car running, it was running good once fully warmed up but cold start was hot garbage. Shaking and working pretty rough courtesy of leaking intake manifold gaskets.
So the disassembly begins.

It's evident that the leather would benefit from some dye to make them perfect but overall I'm happy with the results. I have to say I love Sport seats compared to the standard ones, very comfortable and lots of support.

That's as far as I go with this one. There's still suspensions to be sorted out, steering box leak and bodywork but the new owner will be taking care of that.
I started editing the video and it's going to be well over 30 minutes. No idea how to fit all of this in one video but I don't want to chop it up several parts either. Should be interesting.
Berry nice. Great work bringing this back to its former glory. I can tell you spent a lot of time on cleaning duties.
Fantastic updates, great job!! So what will be the next project after this 8er goes to new owner?
I still can’t get over how ridiculously bolstered the E31’s back seats are.
Hell of an update as always.
Definitely, I really wish I had space to add parts washer. It would speed up the process and be much easier to clean the parts.
Thanks, Will!
Actually, it already is with the new owner. It left my possession last night, went to the same guy that bought the green one, they are restoring them for customers or something.

I'm on the hunt and I just stumbled upon ZHP in Europe! At least at first glance, it looks like it.

I'm trying to get more details but Mystic blue coupe. Exactly what I want. Waiting for VIN to see if it ever went through Copart.
Also, trying to close the deal on this one. I'm in love with it, pre-facelift E38 750iL with Sport contour seats that's in original condition, but don't think it will happen as it's priced too high.

Thanks, Spenser! They look cool but are useless. Don't think anyone could sit in the back. The front Sport seats are very impressive though.
Mysticblau! Good find! Grey interior sucks tho. Swap for black M3 seats!

Here's he VIN of that 330Ci - PD98609
It is a ZHP - S767 Performance Package
But it also has - S863 Dealer List Europe - so maybe it never went to the US? I need to check Carfax.
Lol I’m a wee lad, I bet I’d fit.
I’ve seen some pictures where people have kept their grey seats but swapped in the black consoles and carpet and it looks infinitely better. The inverse would be very interesting.
Damn, where and how did you find that?! That has to have an interesting story...
Ahh, the e38 sport contours.... are those the ones with the articulating back rest?!
Sreten,
1. Updates are high quality as always.
2. Those seats from e31 are very cool
3. Waiting to hear about your next project
4. Do you have any interest on e32 V12 or e38 is where your heart is going? Just curious.

I wouldn't mind grey seats that much and M3 seats would a must in the end.
It's for sale in Austria, 10.800 eur ($12.3k) which is too rich for me and the seller is a complete clueless moron. Whatever I ask about the car his answer is I don't know. He says he bought it 8 months ago, doesn't know the story behind it nor if it has any service history. According to him it's perfect, but it's missing a battery or something like that, I couldn't make sense of it. He said he'll look in the car if there is any service history...
I hate sellers like this so I've given up for now.
Yeah, my silver E38 also has titling upper part of the seat but doesn't have these sport seats that have bigger bolsters and thigh support. Anyway, it didn't work out with that car. We couldn't agree on the price.
Thanks, Sergey!
My heart is with E38 but I wouldn't mind E32 too. It's just they are hard to come by in decent shape but I'm keeping my eye out. We'll see about the next project, I'm open to anything with or above 6 cylinders.
Do we have any members in Raleigh, NC?
