Wheel Wednesday (it's gonna be a thing)

Wheel Wednesday u said
Cleaning car right now
Good stuff.
As for mirrors, call me crazy but I prefer the squares. Perhaps I would feel differently after seeing M3 mirrors on a ZHP.
When I found that particular m3 sedan conversion thread it consumed me, I think I read every post. I wish I had the means to accomplish such work, would love to have an Imola Red twin.

You need convincing.

Convinced yet???
I like the square mirrors too.
M3 mirrors want
I'm partial to the squares
Parked outside of a friend's house today. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Beautiful car, I can't describe it though, to me the squares go with the "squared" look of the e46. Maybe I'm crazy, seems like those mirrors should be on a more curvy car.
Glad I'm not alone!

In case anybody is wondering, this is what the 02 looks like at the moment

It's interesting you say that because to me it's exactly the opposite. The E46 actually isn't boxy at all, which is why I'm shocked they kept the rectangular mirrors. The mirrors are the only part of the car I found awkward.
The M3 has the perfect flow for the E46 chassis IMO.

I could see the car being "square" when looking from the rear, but that's about it.

Nice
Ha! I guess we'll have to agree to disagree then buddy. I realize the e46 isn't as "boxy" as the e30 or even the e36, but does seem more boxy than the e90 or even the f30. I'd say the sedan seems more boxy than an e46 M3 too, those pulled out fenders give the e46 M3 a much more curvy appearance than our more reserved sedans.
Again, perhaps my feelings would change if I ever saw them on a sedan in person, sometimes interweb pics do not do justice to the small details of their subjects.
Boxy or not I'd love to have a set that folded in/up when the car was locked, function > form in regards to side mirrors.

Had some fun on the no-seasons before I mount the winters tomorrow. God this car looks good :drool
nice, alex - you got the rack on!
i was in ottawa for a crazy work day yesterday, had some snow on the way home too.. here she is below before the drive, with the 17x8 ET38 M5 reps and 215/50/17 xice3's, and then the drive home after. sorry, iPhone pics.
we didn't get a ton of snow, and it turned to rain as i got into picton. this morning it's basically all gone and it's raining - but we're in a warm pocket here, it's a weird little ecosystem because of it's position in the lake (it's basically an island).
new xice3's performed well - no drama.

Dang, glad we don't have snow here! It's 73* here today!
Nope! But this you can shovel:

All safe from the snowy, slushy, and icy drive. LOL

Dat azz....she's useless in first, second, and third within the city or highway. Those gears are mainly used for style points!
^^ LOVE it! Beautiful color!

Which summer setup did you end up with Justin?

My bad.

A few pics from tonight's maintenance work on the X.
New updated end links... The dust boots look much better, but could just be because they're new. Otherwise, no major differences that I could see...

This suspension is WAY too complicated. There are like 10 bushings at each corner...

Cleaned up the brakes... Glass cleaner spray bottle for size reference...

One more size reference... The S2000 is my brother's car (my current daily driver while I sell it for him). The X5 wheels are 21"
http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...s/IMG_3856.jpg
Wow, tires as big as the car. Those brakes look great Joop.
Thanks John... The wheels and tires are massive, and those are the smaller ones up front... As for the brakes, I'm really impressed, the quality is great. Paint, then the M decal, and then clear coat over it all. It looks great and seems to hold up well. The brake dust wiped right off. :)
Parked next to my buddies G35 over lunch. The lighting seemed pretty neat so I snapped a shot.
