Took her for a spirited drive. Felt great!
60 degrees today...got her washed. Started prepping at dads for suspension refresh, ofhg, front brake pad swap and fluid flush, etc. :)
Cleaned out garage at my new place finally as well. Nothing fancy but can store her out of the elements. Roommates agreed to put their keys in a bowl in case I need to move one of their cars to back out (single lane driveway). The things we do when their might as well be another person living with me in the shape of an imola red sedan ;)

"ZHP is a garbage option anyway- just some cosmetic upgrades with a different cam and diff to claw back some of the performance lost fitting those hideous and heavy wheels. Any 330 with a 3.46 diff will smoke a ZHP every time. The whole Mafia thing reeks of childish behavior." - anonymous
I got my ZHP about 15 months and 200 miles ago (111,000 miles on the car now). The thing that has bugged me the most has been the chipped/peeling soft-touch plastics on the interior. Over time they just look dreadful. So I bought some paint, a few new parts, and after a day's worth of effort I have what feels like a new car. Total was just over $325 for everything. Here's what I used:
- Krylon Black Satin for the black cube. No prep, just painted it in a couple of light coats. Looks perfect.
- SEM Color Coat 15013 Landau Black flexible coating for the shift surround. Scuffed off all the old soft coating with a kitchen scour pad, then 5 very light coats of the SEM. It's not quite as matte as I would have liked, but the finish turned out nice. I understand the SEM is quite durable.
- 2nd-hand new console and rear cover from a user on E46 Fanatics. It was new in box, and I paid for both pieces what I would have paid for just the console from a vendor.
- New radio carrier and storage tray from FCP Euro. Free shipping, and their prices are competitive. I decided not to skimp here, since even lightly used ones seem to have gouges and scuffs.
- New coin holder from Amazon.
- I bought a new cup holder when I got the car 15 months ago--the old one was just too disgusting.
- Alcantara shift and hand brake boots were in great shape, so I just cleaned them.
I didn't realize how worn everything was until I got it out of the car:

And the finished product. Great results!

Next I'm going to work on the door armrests. I got the SEM paint chart, and I should be able to match the Hellbeige.
Thanks for looking!
Paul
Spent the day yesterday detailing the zhp.
First clayed the entire car, then used chemical guys v34 and an orange pad, followed by chemical guys v38 and a blue pad. Then topped it off with a spray sealant I got from my detailersdomain.com mystery package. I'm EXTREMELY happy with the results. This is the first Time this car has looked this good before. Also the first time I've ever used any sort of sealant before. Forgive the crappy cellphone pictures. I'll try to get some good ones here soon.

This morning I started working on my ///M and swapped out my bad subwoofer amp for my new one.

Then sorted out my stereo wiring and got access to my inline fuses to have them reinstalled to power my subwoofer amp when I reconnect my battery.
I also reinstalled my cleaned alcantara steering wheel. Next is a good wipe down of my ///M then a quick spin ;)
