I'm assuming it has something to do with needing a side-facing reflective surface instead of simply a bulb housing.

At least they're easy enough to swap out :)

This is something I always wanted to try now that I have BP's old black cube...
I'm still up in the air on whether I'll keep it this way. The wife likes it a lot.

What do you guys think?

I like it a lot as well. Best of both worlds.

Interesting, took me a bit to notice it's half and half. I think it works.

This is pretty much how I bought my car, except my plate is the black "weave" looking trim from another trim level or model year. I'm not sure what happened to the original silver cube one, but it hasn't stuck out too much to me and I actually prefer the darker surround for my shifter. :)

Yea that's what I was thinking... the console should be entirely black
