I vote YES. I had the iron exhaust manifolds on my E28 done by Jet-Hot with their Sterling 15 years ago & they still look great. Cerakote & Swain do good work, too.

I did that on the ones for my Truimph. Most of what I've heard is that's the way to go.

yes. go with swaintech since it's the best of the three.
Anyone know of a shop in the Denver area that has the proper tool to roll fenders?

Has anyone here used the N54 exhaust manifold studs? They have a torx head for simpler installation vs the double-nut method of the stock studs.

OK, so I put in the bavsound speakers and they worked fine. I checked and every speaker was working. Later, I disconnected the battery and replaced the door airbag and spliced in a new connector. Sometime after that, I noticed that the front right door speakers weren't working. All 3 were out. From what I understand, it could be either the amp or the head unit. Any ideas how to test these or anything? If it is the amp, how hard would it be to use an aftermarket amp and do a sub while I'm at it? Also, I have an aftermarket headunit that I put in a year ago - an Avin Avant 3. It's pretty glitchy so I don't want to rule that out, either.
Is the sunshade supposed to fit this badly in a sedan? I ordered this one off ECS and after seeing others fit perfectly in e90s and f30s I got suspicious. The part number on this says it's for a e90, and I know ECS isn't above sending wrong parts. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...30e68a6bbe.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...06ca9ce793.jpg

Yup, that must be the wrong part. I have the Genuine E46 BMW shade for mine and it fits perfectly.
We’ll be taking a 1,800 mile road trip this summer and I’m playing with the idea, of taking the ZHP. The car is nearing 160K and most maintenance is current. Things that I haven’t done are the fuel pump and filer and the PVC system.
The car runs and drives fine and I just replaced the battery and mass air flow meter.
Looking for thoughts, on just driving it or, do some work and spend some money first.

Definitely either change or at least put a fresh fuel pump in the trunk if you're ok with a roadside swap. I was lucky enough to show symptoms instead of a sudden failure, but most E46 owners are not. I think that's the only time bomb in these cars though...well...outside of the cooling system...
And the fuel filter would be a good idea for gas mileage alone.
I’ve done quite a few >1000 miles road trips on my zhp. As Nate said, replacing the fuel pump is a good idea. I’d also think about replacing the radiator due to age. I’ve replaced mine at 125k miles (176k now) because it was just before summer and I had a lot of road trips planned and I didn’t want to be stranded. My thinking was, I needed to replace it sooner or later so it wasn’t a question of saving money and since I bought it from fcp, I don’t have to pay for it again...

Will a door trim panel from a '00 fit an '05 330i?
Anyone have recommendations for a bluetooth OBD dongle? I finally got around to getting Torque for my Xtrons head unit.
This one plays well with my xtrons and is low profile enough that I just leave it in the port

Perfect, thanks! What do you do with the flap covering the OBDII port? Just let that sh*t dangle?

Try basement.
Lol well, yes...but I assumed we all had that one random place, completely separated from the main stash, full of pieces you keep meaning to organize with the main stash but never do.
For me that’s the drawer to the left of the fridge. OBD2 flappy boi? Check. A litany of shitty LED bulbs for the interior? Yup. The original crappy screws for the aFe airbox cover I’ve since replaced? Those are there too. And for some reason a sleeve of Titleist demo balls from their test program [emoji2371]
Anybody else drop a gd sunroof on their head today? No? Just me?

Trying to fit up a cheap plug from Cliq Tuning now. It fits, but will definitely need some adjustments.

Edit: looks like about 35lbs but I'll be adding the plug and some foam sound blocker so probably 30lbs removed from the roof [emoji106]
