Yay!
Here's my plan:
- I'll be coming with me, myself, and I for all 3 days
Tools I will be bringing:
2x Jack Stands
1x Hydraulic Jack
2x Ramps
Universal Socket Set
T50 Torx
T25 Torx
T20 Torx
Hex set
Torque Wrench (good up to 80 ft/lbs)
Hog Rings
Hog Ring Pliers
Things I plan on doing:
- Replace passenger occupancy sensor mat. This will be a big project, and I'll need a little help to make sure I don't totally screw this up. I do not want to ruin my upholstery, so I'm going to go really slow about it. If I can't figure something out then I will just leave it be and consider asking a professional to do it.
- If time allows: Try to diagnose my potentially legitimately warped brake rotor, it happened again :) Go get them turned if I need to. I don't know why this keeps happening.
Food I will be bringing
I have no idea
Beer I will be bringing
Really good local stuff
That's good to hear... I will have to coordinate travel plans with you and anyone else interested in cruising down with us :thumbsup
I would like to see the travel times such that we arrive at Dane's by 3 - 4pm.... just in time to relax, help set up and enjoy the meet/greet and bbq :)
You need to research the way the upholstery it attached to seat, with hooks. These hooks are no joke and will be your major obstacle. I ended up destroying the seat I had, getting the mat out. I originally was going to write up a diy to replace the mat, but it did not go as planned.

Charlie are you driving the M3 down? :drool
I assume if BMW tech's had to replace the upholstery in the wifes E90, expect to do the same for yours. Why not just do the bypass? I did it on my zhp shortly before selling. The bypass trick is approx $8 and simply tricks the computer into thinking the occupancy sensor is occupied. Only downside, is passenger airbag will go off during a collision even if there is no one in the seat.
And wolf, Charlie and I will be taking our M's down, we will be stopping for gas once or twice on the way down though haha.
I'll be bringing my screwed up brain...and my engine swapping experience. If anyone wants to swap out their engine over that weekend, I can make it happen. I've got this crap figured out now....trust me.
