Updates time.

Installed Mahle KL149 fuel filter. Filternwas certainly purchased from FCP. FIlter was replaced at some point before my ownership and cheap hose clamps were used and they rusted quite badly. So, I installed new fuel line clamps that connect filter.
Also, oil was change with Rotella 5W-40. Oil was sent to Blackstone and report came out great.
Mileage - 158,324
Today, I finally started my interior swap. All 4 door cards from Alcantara interior were installed. They were pretty dirty and it took me a good amount of time and elbow grease to clean them.
Over the weekend I cleaned all fabric and alcantara on all seats. I will have to clean front seats rails before seats will go to the car and definitely will do another round for alcantara cleaning. I followed Larry Kosilla technique for alcantara cleaning. I forgot to take pictures of the seats, but will definitely do that before the install.
I am planning to start leather seats and carpet removal this coming weekend and will be posting my progress. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...63aef60f2a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8bf6d0c8d9.jpg

Looking good so far. I'll wait to see the alcantara seats pics.
Thanks Fredo. Hopefully, I will have some more updates with pictures this weekend.

Today I finally started to pull my grey interior out.
Work that was done so far:
Removed seats
Removed central console and all plastic items
Removed glovebox
Removed armrest
Removed rear section of the carpet
Removed airbag on the passenger side
Surprisingly, I am seriously stuck with the steering wheel. Spring on the left side of wheel that needs to pushed in order to release airbag is stuck. I removed steering wheel multiple times in the past and very familiar with the process. I will continue to work on it tomorrow. Steering wheel significantly slowed me down as I was planning to remove everything today and start black dash, carpet and seats install tomorrow.
Well, battle will be resumed tomorrow. I have to remove steering wheel and all plastic around the column, pull out dash board and pull ot front section of the carpet. The goal for tomorrow is to install black dash and carpets and as much trim is possible. Let's hope I am not going to fight with the steering wheel for a long time.
I have a few pictures, but it's very dark in my garage, especially with on going construction.
I forgot to mention that I also retrofitted OEM alarm today. Attachment 36071Attachment 36073Attachment 36074

When I've had the same issue removing the steering wheel, i usually re-seat the airbag and start with the side that was giving me issues.
Wow, lots of work going on there. No idea why it would stick, esp if you've done it before. Hope it works out.
No updates for two years from my side - shame....

Now, million dollar question, how can keep this thread updated-:)

Update this thread as you do maintenance/mods to your car Sergy.... :thumbsup
As you know there are some who are updating on their cars all the time... then there are some who update every once in a while.... either way it is all good. :)
Did a small cosmetic upgrade on my car:
1. Installed used OEM msprot door sills.
2. Installed new OEM right side fog light cover. I lost it somewhere during the move and road trip from Boston and Charlotte.
3. Installed new OEM cup holder. Old one was pretty scuffed. I am going to buy a new coin holder as well, because it is super annoying to have scuffed and new part next to each other.
Car mileage 171,611.
Next on the list - diff and transmission oils. Maybe it will be SMG wheel retrofit, will see. It is pretty cold to work outside and I do not have a garage space at the moment. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c8ca92a69e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...dc6a900acb.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9b6060a914.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b45bdff1db.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0c4ae68683.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9676c49318.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5322913858.jpg
Well done, sir. I will get a new cup holder at some point. :thumbsup
Back in spring of 2021 I decided to retrofit OEM SMG steering wheel on the car. I found locally a trashed steering wheel, which was pretty cheap. I was planning to rewrap it anyway, so condition of the leather was not super important. Bottom steering wheel cover and paddles were pretty scuffed as well. New OEM paddles are stupidly expensive and I didn't want to buy aftermarket.
I had a bad experience few years of DIY and was searching for other options. I found a guy at NAM3 forum, who is doing a great job of trim recovery.
I pulled the trigger and 1 week ago recieved parts. Results are great and parts came out really nice.
Now I need to find a good warm weekend to install the new wheel and wire SMG specific slip ring. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0fccbd529c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ff57a3d959.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...56e0449746.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...286bdc4553.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3dbf970849.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...01046f1a38.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...592020e1eb.jpg

That guy did an amazing job refreshing your parts Sergy! Looks brand new! :thumbsup
I remember when I paid $80 for that lower steering wheel trim back in the day. That part now is $181. Crazy.
I was looking at some new center console parts and they have jumped in price. Euro tray is now $143 and rear Ash tray is $92.
Such is the future of parts for the E46. Everything will rise in cost. Replace it now before it becomes unavailable or overpriced

Thanks! He did an amazing job and the whole experience was great: communication, turnaround, etc.
I do not own M3, but I registered to that forum, so I can get in touch with him. Let me ask for his info. I communicated over the forum PM. I told him to post on other forums or FB groups.
I will get back to you. That is another reason, why I decided to resurface those trims. I pais $35 for paddles and $50 for steering wheel trim.
I think back in 2015 the lower trim pieces cost $90 or so.
Everything became crazy.
Vas, maybe it is time to stock up some itmes. I met one guy here in NC who is a big fan of e30. He has a great 325i sedan that is in a great shape. Many interior pieces are NLA and used parts are crazy money.

Two weeks ago my window regulator failed. Usually it is not surprising, but it was this time. This window regulator only lasted 2 years. This is crazy considering that I am not really using it and car was in the storage for 5 month. I am done dealing with URO premium and went with OEM one from FCP. It is 3 time more expensive than Uro premium, but I hope it can last a bit longer this time.
Guides were lubricated and everything where my hands can reach inside of the door was cleaned.
Mileage at installation was 172,561.
Also, I finally ditched the front license plate and got a brand new sunshade. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...56b1ba23fd.jpg

If you want something between ÜRO and OEM, try the BavAuto brand regulator (available on Turner). I've heard a lot of good things about it and based on my experience so far, it's definitely much better than the ÜRO trash while being significantly cheaper than OEM.
Fcpeuro and a genuine unit is the way to go.

Thanks. I probably going to stay with OEM from FCP, even though the price will be creeping up. I hope that OEM will last a long time. Will see. I am afraid that 5 years from now it will cost $300 or something crazy. I paid $186 for mine 3 weeks ago.

Current and on-going projects:
Dinan TB, intake and software III.
DISA rebuild with GAS kit.
Power steering reservoir, hoses and fluid flash.
Thermostat, water pump and coolant flush. All hoses are fine will not be touched.
AUX/Mechanical fun clutch conversion. I have no idea, why I didn’t do it earlier.
Brake buster vacuum hoses.
Working on TB and DISA right now.
Dinan TB was installed. It is only 1 mm bigger in ID that factory one. I was thinking it is a bit more. I am still going to keep and do not have a high hopes for additional power. Throttle response will be improved for sure.
Also, pulled DISA. It didn't look that bad for 180k miles. Rebuild is the must in my opinion, so that is what's next on the list. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...504c6a48dc.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5756d6f261.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...98876e03b9.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...21f99e5515.jpg

Let me know how it ends up feeling, I've looked at the Dinan TB as well.
I think Rob got the DINAN TB and Software III flash and told me that there was not much of a noticeable difference from the OE TB and stock tune. I think it is a combination of having the DINAN intake, TB, exhaust and tune that you will see a difference but for the amount of HP gain you will see it won't be worth the amount of money you end up spending when you can get other solutions that will get you more horsepower for much less. Still, having a full DINAN setup is still pretty cool and to have the DINAN badge on the car is still a nice statement in my opinion. I like seeing these updates Sergy! :thumbsup
