Bump - ZHP met some awesome people today!
I had the opportunity to ride in the car and man...what a bullet the car is. Feels and handles more like a 20k car.
The level of maintenance that Marc has performed is among the best I have seen. The passion he has for the car is apparent and it is sheer good luck to the buyer to get this car that Marc intended to keep for a long time.
Hopefullly this superbly maintained car goes to someone in the mafia or an enthusiast desiring an IR sedan.
On a personal note: delighted to have met the reputed Roundel columnist in person. :) He is a very relaxed and nice guy, and I hopefully will get to meet him more. (Sorry Marc, I know that could be a nasty surprise to you ;). Maybe I can drag you into the NJBMWCCA auto-x and other events once you get the new ride. :D)
You're the man, Rajan! I'll be in touch. Getting a deposit on the car tonight. If all goes well with PPI (which I'm sure it will), then this will be sold in the next couple of weeks to a VERY WORTHY new owner! Matter of fact, the car is going to be a lot happier in its new home!
Marc,
I have to say that I'm happy to see things go for your ZHP... hopefully we will hear from the new owner once he/she picks it up :thumbsup
Be sure to post pics of your new ride! :)
Thanks, sir.
Marc......sorry to see you let the ZHP go, but understand the lure of a new car. Good luck to you and I do hope you will order it just how you want and at least do Performance Center Delivery!
Sent from my fancy telephone!
Gary - I am going to inquire about perf. center delivery. Want to get it done - only live once, right?
Car is, for all intents and purposes, sold. Have a deposit and we jacked the car up and did our own PPI (buyer's brother is quite mechanically inclined and is an E46 expert). Car passed his test with flying colors.
I'm sad to see this go, but I'm also choosing to sell it. If I were entirely emotionally attached to it, I wouldn't sell it. I have no qualms about getting rid of the 135is and getting back into a ZHP if this experiment doesn't work out.
This will still be the place I hang out the most, by far. And I'll see you all at sigfest in the Spring (I hope). It's weird. I'm not going anywhere, but I feel like I am. Some of our best family members don't have ZHPs, so that'll be me.
Back to Gary - I just remembered why you're sad I'm selling the car - now you don't get to drive it and beat on it like I beat on yours! hahahahahhaah
Not surprised to see the quick sale Marc. Glad it is going to a nice place.
btw, I re-read your Sep Roundel article and marked it for reading whenever I am depressed. Hilarious! :)
Guess you wouldn't recommend your brother-in-law for any handyman work, right? :D
No he's great, it just so happened that my place "flooded" just before he was going to get started.
I've driven quite a few 135's in my day.. they don't have the same 'personality' that the zhp does, but I'm sure that the power will keep you addicted enough to hopefully not regret your decision.
Good luck!
Agreed, but I found its road manners to be very similar with the m-sport suspension. It is definitely heavier than the 128i, but it still feels quite balanced.
Fiance of the buyer checking in, she is very excited. I'm sure when she gets her account going when she comes home tonight she will chime in. :)
There he is! New family member!
When y'all meet this fam, you'll thank me for recruiting them to our fam.
Andrew - tell them about the garage bays and the lifts. Also, tell them about the rabbits and about how I GET TO TEND THE RABBITS!
Sorry, former English teacher - Of Mice and Men jumps up on me from time to time.
6 bay garage, lift, tools, and plenty of bespoke BMW specific tools. She is going to a good home!
Updating as SOLD Marc.
Thanks, John. And thanks, Dane, for updating the title.
Andrew - tell the rest of the fam that this internet/SIG fam really appreciates the intro threads. It's a good way to feel the love, too.
Car got rained on today. Sorry.
Hello, I'm the excited new owner and I just wanted to check in on the forum. It seems like a great community and I look forward to making an intro thread and reading up on all the ZHP information I can!
Woohoo! Welcome to the fam, Liz.
Welcome! Imola ZHP's are the sh*t!
Hello, congratulations and welcome aboard Liz!
Glad that you purchased this wonderful car. Hope you enjoy it for the next 100k miles. :)
PS: here's a welcome question for you - you and I have met, albeit for a fleeting moment. Can you recollect when and where? tick tock tick tock... :)
The other interested buyer?
Boom! Liz, meet Rajan (again).
Welcome Liz ....your gonna love it here!
Sent from my fancy telephone!

Will be driving an E30 325xi in the meantime.

Upgrade? ;)
Manual or Auto?
Congrats, Marc and Liz :)
Manual 325ix
Dude...why are you getting another car? LOL Those are super cool and even cooler that it's a manual!
This was a total coincidental happening: saw my friend and chapter pres. at 7-11 a couple weeks ago. We get to chatting and I mention that I'm looking to find a car to drive while I wait for mine. He says, "I've got an E30 you can drive!" I was like, really? Crazy!
Very awesome of your Chapter Pres. Have an enjoyable two months :)
I had the pleasure of borrowing a 325ix for 6 months while the shop had my blown engine E36(oil pump nut failure).
The thing is a damn giggle machine.
