I am enjoying the fruits of Eli's labor. ;)
Not sure there is a DIY, but if you get your head up in there you'll see what Eli is talking about. If you choose to stick your head in there please be safe :). It is a little bolt that sticks out a little that can be shaved off for really aggressive stances.
I'm not sure on the tire sizes used by Eli but 20mm is def doable on stock rims, but I'd assume 225-235 tire size. I'm lowered with 235 tires with 15mm in rear and plenty of room. 12mm in front but wish I was out further now that I'm lowered. I'll try and snap some photos soon when it stops raining.
Just out of curiosity, you guys running such small tires... 225, 235?? Currently I've got my front wheels with 225s on the back just to see what the 8.5" rims would look like up front... I have to say, that small of a tire is ridiculous out back... I break them free at almost every intersection... And Devlin can attest, I'm not that hard of a driver...
You guys run that small just for fitment?? I'll be running 245s once my wheels arrive...
Anyway, back on topic... Not sure I'll need to space, maybe just a touch out back to keep the fitment looking even... We'll see.. :)
I'm running 225 all around because its my winter set. Skinnier tires means more weight on a smaller surface area and that helps with traction in the snow.
trust me I would be running a le mans race with this kind of set up.
not a lot of snow up here in Chicago either...
Last winter was incredibly mild and this year is looking the same. Supposed to be 55-62 all weekend, which is a bout +20 deg warmer than normal.
I don't think that question was meant for me, but just as an FYI I'm stock tire sizes right now, but going to go 245s all around for a square setup.
John, if you remove the rear wheel and look in there up and towards the rear bumper you'll see what I'm talking about. Just needs a bit of Dremel work to get it shaved.
There's also bumper clips that should get pulled. I ran my car for several years in all kinds of weather without the clips & the bumper bolts shaved and the rear bumper never sagged or got loose. There's a TON of attachment points on those rear bumpers that honestly, it's just overkill.
Even if I was running a stock ZHP, I'd consider removing them both because if you don't, the clips have a sharp edge that could easily slice a tire under compression and the bolts aren't much better. Like I said, take a look and you'll see what I mean.
I hated that stupid rear bumper clip and bolt. Those came off quite quickly once I saw they were the culprits cutting my tire up..
Reviving this...
Im looking at TMS's spacers, 17.5mm for rear and 15mm for front, do I need extended bolts with those?
^Yes!
Those will make your car look a lot more agressive if you're currently running no spacers at all
thanks, then after more reading, im considering 15R and 12.5F...
Purpose of these spacers is:
Handling/Performance?
Looks?
More about looks. Some would say a wider stance does help stability. Others say you're introducing another point of instability between your wheels/hubs. If you're not racing, it probably doesn't matter.
Ask and you shall receive. No rubbing whatsoever

wow.... car looks perfect... thanks for the pics man...
Sub'd. Was thinking of just getting rear spacers. I like the look up front but my rears are tucked in too far.

sorry to revive old thread, but what is the consensus on how big of a spacer would fit on coupe w/ stock setup? Like some other people said, it's kinda hard to get an accurate measurement with a ruler or tape, but it is clearly evident that the front fender can accommodate a fatter spacer than the rear. Not really trying to roll my fenders at the moment, and don't want any rubbing either.
@wolfn8tr i agree. If i were to only put one set of spacers on, it would be the rears for sure. At least make it somewhat flush with the body.
I still owe you a PM on the spacers, been really busy...
I think 12mm is ok on the back with no roll, though it would be better to, just in case. (There is a roller tool out there somewhere that you just need to pay shipping for in order to use (anyone know who has it?) and its a pretty easy DIY).
I can’t talk about front wheels as I have rears on all 4 corners.
