Nice job.
If it only happens when you're in neutral with clutch pedal depressed, I believe this is normal - it happens because our flywheels are lighter from what I've read. Try turning off with clutch pedal pressed in vs depressed. If you have a steptronic I have no idea!
Remember to dilute the BMW coolant with distilled water 50-50.
Thanks guys,
So that solve the rattle problem. I usually just turn on/off the car without pushing down on the clutch.
I'll check in the morning on the coolant.
Thanks again!
Tony, I occasionally have this with my ZHP and what I do to get rid of the rattle is depress the clutch. Don't need to depress all the way and the rattle will stop. Usually happens to me when I either first start my car or get ready to turn it off.
I did the whole no clutch start mod so I suppose I never really thought it was a problem until after I did that. It has been bugging me for a bit afterwards however all seems good now. Once I get a chance to clean her I'll snap some photos. I also heard from Chad that someone could repair/patch work alcantara seats? I got a nice tear on the driver side bolster which I haven't got around to fixing yet. Possibly in the future I'll fix all the cars.
CLutch chatter and gear rattle is normal if you have an unsprung hub disc and the flywheel is light. On the 6 speed case it has an unsprung hub disc.
Thanks Nivo! Heard you are selling your car man. Let's meet up this weekend since I'll be in Worcester.
Wrapped up my morning by following this thread posted by Hermes,

Everything looks so much better now with a black rear deck :)
Have not updated in a while.
So after a few months of having the car. The first gift I received was a gund named "Wolfram". My personal passenger making sure that I don't do anything too crazy or speed while driving the car. Two months later I have finally decided on a name for my zhp. After meeting "Wobbie" a few times we have decided to name my car "Wulf" since it is totally a alpha male with a pet/passenger name "Wolfram". Thank you to two people in helping me decide on a name for this bad guy. Not really sure on what design however here is all the different designs. I'm thinking "Preserve the trust" or "I'm animal friendly".
Soon I'll update with some more photos and mods. I have been taking care of a lot of maintenance so I'm pretty happy on where the car stands now. Now I just need to get the Beyern Type Mesh Wheels on the car and do a photo session :)
Next on the list to do is the auto dimming mirror.
Hmmm... I'm feeling left out, maybe I should name mine...
Tony....I can help with the auto dim mirror retrofit :thumbsup
I know Charlie! This weekend right? This snow has got to be gone by this weekend!
Yeah this upcoming weekend will be good for me :thumbsup Just let me know which day :)
Happy 10 years to WULF :)
I'll upload photos tomorrow if this rain stops.
Happy car birthday!
Here's to another 10 years. :thumbsup

Thanks guys. Doing some work under the hood today. Finally got some screws for the afe intake. Realized I been missing screws for 3years since I had the intake from the po of the 330xi...http://i.imgur.com/7UPpD41.jpg
So while I was fixing and taking stuff apart I decided to take a look at the headlights. Realized that the passenger light is pretty burnt and one of the tabs is broken.

Followed by checking the drivers side. Which wasn't too bad.

However I did manage to find this which is why I posted in the classifieds looking for a zwk housing frame. Guess I only really need the drivers side now.

All in all I think I got my work cut out for me for a while. Possibly thinking about doing a FX-R retrofit since I already have them sitting around.
On a side note I did manage to replace the sway bar bushings. :)
Until you do your FXR, you should probably take your light switch off auto until you retrofit the auto lights because the lights are just permanently on in that position otherwise, further burning your bowls... :eeps

I realized today that only the passenger side auto level works and the driver side doesn't. What is the real benefits for the auto leveling? Worth the trouble to get it working again or should I just disable both?
The lights just won't level when you're going over bumps/hills. I personally don't think it's a big deal to NOT have this feature. Most likely your issue is within the headlight itself or the auto level motor...imo. Probably a PITA to fix.
Sourced out a set of rear clears and waiting for them to come in the mail.
Also purchased blind spot side mirrors and waiting to pick those up.
Cleaned up the alcantara seats with a fabric shaver. I still want to have them reupholster in the future since there is a tear and it looks all faded. Going to clean up the steering wheel today as well.
So I realized today that for my birthday my passenger side fog light broke. It would seem like a rock flew into it.
Car is looking very good! Hopefully we'll meet up when I go back out to school in a few months.
Would absolutely love to go, it looks like an absolute blast and a great chance to meet other members... Unfortunately I have work and a a busy weekend planned, maybe next year we can drive down! :)

I had a great time at the reunion and thanks again for everyone that helped me with my car. The car is getting better one step at a time thanks to you all.
If anyone wants to drive deeper into coding feel free to hit me up. My contact information is in the members section.
Nice! I also have the bulb out error. How did you fix it? The car had the taillight recall done last year.
Wow, that's a lot of stuff for one post. Good work on the car.
I better get back to modding, you're blowing right by me!!! J/K, school comes first, but yeah you have certainly put a lot of time into that car... E46, The last of the readily driveway serviceable 3-series.
I need to get on installing my RLS... That and fixing my headlights are the only things I may take on this summer, outside of my brake projects and maintenance.
Good stuff Tony!
What did you remove the inners for on the UK rears? Also any way to source another set? :)
Find a set on the UK Ebay site. I can contact my contact person over there in regards to getting them and shipping cost. For the inner rear they were really dirty so Botond told me to take a screw driver and split it. I then took a old amber set I had and split those. I tried to paint the inner housings with black enamel follow by metallic paint but that didn't work too well. I'm not that experience with the whole painting business. Anyways I compounded and buff the crap out of the inner ones and epoxy them back together. They look a lot better after that. The chrome on the housings are easily scratch-able.
RLS is a task! A lot of work it seems already. I am waiting till the windshield is bad enough to have insurance cover it and then I'll get a oem windshield. That is another mod in the planning for me as well.
As for the other mods I can surely help you out on them since you are busy. I can do the headlights for you when I'm in town :P
Thanks a lot! It is nice to add the premium package into the 03 ZHP's that weren't offered the package.
Thanks DW for the information on the bulb out error :)
I'm beginning to like the clears..
