Remove the passenger dash and center dash trims. Remove the two screws on either side under the vents. Grab from the bottom of the vents and twist upward with some force and they should pop out.

You'll see when the vents are loose that there is a cable attached to the temp slider. Remove the clip on the red retainer part of the cable, then slide the O end off the black plastic pin and pop the cable out of its plastic retainer. It's easiest if you look up a video on YouTube how to do this to get a better visual.

Also, deleted my Bimmian mount because I got tired of my loose looking trim. I'll come up with an alternate solution in the mean time...

It can be a bear to get out. I always think it won't come or is going to break. Agree--watch the videos.

The only hard part about the entire process was trying to take out my radio and vents without damaging my trim. I was very afraid to take out that trim covering these pieces because that one pin towards the steering column was pretty stuck and I didn't want to break the pin retaining plastic. I've done that twice already on different trims, so I was super careful and just left it in while working around it.

Installed Koni sport shocks and struts today. I can't wait to see how they feel on the road to work tomorrow.

What did I do for my ZHP today (actually yesterday)? I damaged it by running over a rubber bungee cord. It made a hell of a racket. The tire went flat when the bungee cord's s-hook was pulled out of the center tread. Also discovered the temporary spare had a bent rim and that is likely causing its own slow leak issue.

A quarter panel paint job is forthcoming all because of a bungee cord laying in the highway. Look closely and you can see the trim was broken and the scratches are deeply gouged into the fender and door panel. The centrifugal force apparently stretched out the bungee and allowing the metal end to tear up the side of the car.

I did the Home-link upgrade and it was super easy. Thanks to this forum!

Repairs coming out of my pocket. Going to have the body shop fix some other spots at the same time.
