everything is a compromise - if you want comfort, like charlie said, keep the stock springs - add some koni yellows and enjoy a good DD suspension.

when you lower the car, you lose bump travel (unless you have a strut- and shock-body that is height adjustable). bump travel is important for a compliant ride.

also important is good damping. if you want to go lower, you'll need stiffer springs to keep you off the bump stops. if you have adequate damping for said stiffer springs, then your ride should be firmer but still fairly compliant.

also also, adjustable damping does not equal good damping.

it's a major compromise to lower the car. i went through weeks of research and way too much over-analyzing before i settled on a setup for my car.

I just found out that the H&R Touring Cup Kit lowers a different amounts for convertibles and tourings.
The sedan/coupe kits lower a lesser amount. That's what I gathered after reading the descriptions on Turner's site, at least.

Today is a great day to be outside and work on the car. Botond is helping me swap out rotors and brake pads.

The blanks on my ///M were OE and it was time to change them out for the Euro Cross-Drilled ones :)

The front rotor retaining screws were seized and wouldn't come loose, even with liberal use of PB Blaster (yes, we allowed for plenty of time to soak in) so I drilled them out...

Things were going very smooth and we were working on the last rotor before everything came to a crashing halt. Brakes were inadvertently applied before either of us realized the implications then I noticed brake fluid leaking out from my front driver's wheel area. The caliper seals got blown and this was the result...

Both Botond and I realized the level of frustration but we worked thru the problem. Fortunately I am in the mindset if carrying spare parts and have spare calipers for my M3 so I grabbed the spare and swapped out calipers. So as well as swapping out rotors and brake pads, I'm ending up doing a full brake system flush and bleeding brakes so at least my ///M ends up getting much needed brake maintenance completed even with a little unforeseen oops ;) :thumbsup
