got back late friday night from a week away with the family on a missions trip with our church. we camped (first time ever), the entire week was awesome.
the ZHP can haul some mega stuff - there were a few car guys with us on the trip and they are were impressed as well! (could be my packing abilities, LOL.)
we brought with us:
- 2 tents
- 2 tarps
- 4 sleeping bags
- 2 air mattresses
- 4 pillows
- food
- 2 flats of water bottles
- other misc camping gear
- clothes, towels
- blankets
- 2 guitars (!)
- toolbox
- briefcase (just in case i needed to work)
the backseat was only used for the kids and their DVD player, too. :)
it was 5hrs each way and i averaged 28mpg with the roof rack, full trunk, family of 4, and A/C. :) this car just continues to impress!
here's a pic from the night before we left - bonus points if you can ID the black car in the driveway across the street. :)

Looks clean
thanks vas. fresh paint but in that pic it hadn't been washed in weeks, lots of dead bugs on it. :)
now after a week of camping, rain, dirt roads, etc - it is filthy! no pics til it's clean. :) but i am hopefully getting the suspension/drivetrain refresh done before that happens.

Luckily you don't have water restrictions that prevent you from cleaning your own car on your own driveway, legally. [emoji20]
Glad to hear you had a fun filled trip, Peter.
While you were away, I snuck in your neck of the woods and visited Sandbanks beach on Saturday with my friends from Toronto. LOVED the drive on the twisty back roads! And I was surprised to see completely smooth roads with absolutely no potholes etc. What a refreshing break from the crappy roads of Toronto/Ottawa!
My sister took a pic of me from the backseat and it really sums up my driving experience on that day in Picton.
