It is an M-Sport package X1, but they never came with the ///M emblem on the rear. A few M-Sports had a small ///M emplem on the fenders from the factory, but that was hit & miss.Quote:

I saw a virtually new X3 the other day, with X5 badging. The owner had replaced just the 3 with a 5. It was larger than the X from the X3 original badge. As soon as I saw the thing, I went "wait, that's too small to be an X5!". Upon closer examination.. yep. Why do people do shit like this??

That poor car. It could have been somebody's pride and joy at some point. They took an Alpine White 323 coupe, put M3 front fenders on it, a replica front bumper, and M3-style mirrors... Somebody could have added the badge later.
That, or some ass-clown rear-ended somebody, put repro fenders and bumper on it, and added a badge and mirrors.
Either way, that poor, sad, little car.
