What did you do for your ZHP/BMW today?

What did I do today.... finally put that piece of half-width electrical tape around the seal of the DISA. After reading the Rajaie's tips I'd tried it twice before but couldn't get the 13-year-old electrical tape to stick. Then I remembered I had a roll of new electrical tape in the toolbox. It happens to be orange, similar to the built-in DISA seal. Cut an 8" piece then sliced in half lengthwise. This stuck well enough to let me reinstall the DISA. Was my DISA leaking air before? Dunno. But whether it was a real problem or not, it feels good that "I took care of it."

Also installed the aFe scoops.

nice job. now I have an idea of what to do when I get around to DISA, I don't think I have an issue with mine but if/when I do I'll have a plan. Also, congrats on getting the DAS!

Pretty good idea on the DISA. Another method is to just apply a light film of non-hardening Permatex...

Did this last weekend (painted the rims a month ago). They were in very crappy shape and look better black, but I don't love the way it looks. I will love it as I don't notice how filthy they are once the major winter storms hit. Ideally, I'd have a set of 68s for winter use. And looking at these, perhaps a flat anthracite color would have worked well.

Process:
sand wheels with I forget what type of sandpaper (paint can told me which)
1 coat of satin black
2 coats of flat black
2 coats of flat clear

Got the paint from walmart - I think it was krylon. We'll see if it holds up. All is good so far.

AND I cleaned the hell outa my wheel wells. No pics.

Yessuh. Fronts are wintersport M3s, and rears are blizzak LM-25s. I know one shouldn't mix brands like that, but I had no choice when the car came with two brand new LM-25s, and they were only made in runflat at the time. So I went with a close tire and the sky hasn't fallen down yet.

I don't see issues with mixing tires.

Yea, I think so long as they're similar compounds it's not an issue. I think people run into problems when they throw all seasons out back and summer tires in the front, or generally have their better tires up front in the winter.

yeah your fine. I have bridestone 760's in the front of my E32 and Hankook V12's on the back and it's fine.
