MINIz, I was a day away from picking up the HF 450# to start my clutch/flywheel project this weekend until I read your comment. Care to elaborate on your concerns? Just a weight issue or is the jack itself awkward to operate? Also, do you mind detailing exactly what extensions you landed on and in what combo to get the trans bolts out? Thanks in advance.
I think the jack frame was bent by the casters as they had a lot of camber (lol) when assembled. This made it difficult to roll and turn unloaded, so I was afraid it'd tip over with a transmission on it. Also, the tilt forward/back & side/side feature of the 800lb jack will be way more helpful in positioning the transmission for reinstallation; I've borrowed this style before and using it is cake. I think the extra $100 spent will be well worth it for ease of use.Quote:

HF also supplied the extensions for this job. They have a 1/2" female to 3/8" male impact extension kit which I used the 8" length one from. I also used the 3/8" impact extension kit. Mix and match the extensions as needed. These two kits give you about 26" total length, which is enough for all the bolts. A pinless swivel or wobble extensions at the end was also needed. Companies make a 24" long 1/2" female to 3'8" male extensions with a pinless swivel that might work better for the top bellhousing bolts as there would be less flex, but I don't have experience with it.
Edit: got hold of the 800lb trans jack. Seems much nicer. Even has zerk fittings to grease the main pivot arm

End of week update on my garage build.
2ft stem walls are complete(this will give me extra ceiling height inside the garage)
Cold and hot water plumbing is installed
Rebar is put down with the moisture barrier
Next up is pouring the 6" concrete slab. Going thicker than the standard 4" for future lift installation

Concrete slab has been poured, coated and sealed and contraction joints made.
Building materials have arrived to begin framing. Roof trusses are set to deliver next week.

Whew, it's been a while since I've worked on my car - I think it must've been December last year when I put a larger front stabar in?
I've been putting this off for too long; I've had this really huge sag on the right corner of the rear bumper since it was grazed by some unaware dumb driver in the parking lot March last year.

Take the wheel liner out and turns out the bumper has somehow popped off the mount:
