On edit-sorry meant to ask you this-the reason for the post - is it much of a battery drain ? I have to leave my hood up overnight.

They do go bad. If you ever start having the alarm go off for no reason, disconnect it and you'll be good to go...
AFIAK it's just there: there's no indication of the alarm system being installed/activated.Quote:
