Agreed however my factory shifter bushing was quite worn (up and down movement)

Ordered brake lines/clutch line from ecs and a set of front URO regulators. Driver side has been popping quite a bit lately

Installed the radiator today. Had to modify the mounting plate in the area of the trans cooler port, that I had welded shut. Other than that it was like any other radiator install. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...45dc27304e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0affd4e2b5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6851d0735e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ee68a6cc13.jpg

Well at least you're saving money on touch up paint!
More info on the M3/4 and maybe an answer to whyubuy?
Those are some clean looking brake calipers.
Well it belonged to an older lady back in 2005 when my coworker purchased it. She said it looked like a cool car. It had relatively low miles when my coworker took possession, I believe he said around 80k. So since then he has been using it strictly back and forth to work. And he just so happens to commute over 100 miles per day.
The odometer reads 516,XXX
It's got its share of rock chips on the nose.
Suspension was overhauled in late 2014, all bushings were replaced. The motor mounts are the only original rubber under the car. It's on it's 3rd driveshaft and center support bearing. The interior is pristine for DG. The motor had valve seals and cyclone separator done in 2016. The secondary air is quite loud and she's consuming some oil as one could imagine for an s52 let alone the 500k+ odometer.
He was going to trade it on his newly acquired 335d but sales was so scared of the mileage they wanted him to agree to letting them see what it fetched at auction -500 before giving him a trade amount.
I think the car meant to much to him to let it go to the vultures. He's got more projects at home than he can handle. He always intended to make a respectable track car out of it.
I've always half heartedly joked with him about it to the tune of "when you gonna let me have that car", "time to sell it to me" whenever he would pull it in the shop to replace or repair something (usually tires or topping oil)
I believe I will renew all bearings bore the block as needed and maybe rebuild the head. Probably have the front resprayed and just enjoy having the highest mileage M3 around

I brushed the calipers and carriers down with a wire wheel and solvent then shot them with a couple of coats of duplicolor caliper paint while I was doing the steel lines

Ughh after all the rain this week I guess my headlight seals gave up. Was headed in from the garage and looked back and saw moisture in the housing...
Just ordered a set of lenses/ AE's and Fogs from Khoalty.

You hook up the trigger wire to the ECU?
Much much better
It's tapped in to the accessory power or KL30 and also to footwell light supply from the GM for the remote lock/unlock operation.

Looking good :thumbs up
Should consider respraying the lower grille black.
Well I found an old RR dipstick sitting around. Decided it needed modifying to fit the ZHP.

I will now inquire about my oil quantity with a level of elegance that even I don't understand... and it's not red so there's that too.

Decided to part with the Dinan software. Pretty glad I did, BPC squeezed an additional 22ft lbs of torque out of it.

I'm sure there has been mention of it in other threads here or on other forums, but I Have come to understand it's the difference of a tune that's safe for the masses and therefore conservative Vs. A Dyno Tune where the A/F ratio can be monitored real time and timing, fuel, etc. can be adjusted to make peak HP/TQ while maintaining temps and A/F.
That's not to take away from all mail order tunes, I believe the consensus is the Dinan software is a bit on the "conservative side" when compared to others. Even so it was a noticeable difference from stock.
I'm very happy with the tune. I've logged a little over 200 miles with it so far and it's an obvious increase in power in the lower rpm.

Those numbers are nuts. I forgot about the headers for a minute. Guess the lack of cats is a pretty big deal!
cats can still bring big numbers, if they are high-flow units. magnaflow makes some decent all-metal substrate units that flow really well.
but yeah, headers - no wonder those numbers are so good. look at that torque curve - so flat. even gains across the powerband.
you are fortunate that that shop is fairly local! it looks like they do remote tuning as well. hmmm...
Makes me want to install some headers now.

Went out early and did a few drive cycles with the BPC tune to set monitors. Took a few cycles but it set everything. Now I can renew my plates. 55mph on i540 is slightly uncomfortable.

Order from FCP arrived last week so I finally got around to changing the oil. (Liqui-Moly 5w40 / OE filter) Plan on taking advantage of the FCP return policy.

Left rear window regulator gave out and in attempt to raise it I scratched the tint [emoji35]. And I forgot I ordered a steering wheel cover a few weeks ago. It showed up today. Might try to install that soon.

Started on the steering wheel cover this afternoon after we slowed up at work.
eBay sellers name is mooventsteven, product was listed as a wheel cover wrap.
Much more time consuming than anticipated. Was only able to get the lower left section finished before 5:30.
I drove home with the lower left stitched together and continued installing.
The pattern was off a bit somewhere between the 12 o'clock position and 3 o'clock position. The later photos show this. I started at the 3 o'clock with the top section and by the time I made it to the seam I decided to restart on the 9 o'clock. But, as I closed in on the right side seam it was obvious the pattern was off.
I will be contacting the seller, but don't expect much will be done.
Overall, I'm pleased with the outcome for 50.00 shipped , and it can be removed much faster than it went on.

That looks quite good. Crap, for $50 maybe I should've kept the M3 wheel I just sold.
For $50, that looks very good. I saw a similar cover recently on this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJIJRzXIKrY.
$44 for that one. They also had an alignment issue.
Went in this morning to replace both rear window regulators and decided to spray the lower grille and fog surrounds. To spray the grille I released all the tabs and pressed it toward the rear, then as seen in the pics taped off the bumper.
