And reading some of the posts, it looks like your decoder info is different than some people's dates they posted (Bimmernut was one that I saw)...

I wonder if there's some disparity here?? Interesting. I vow from now on to buy a mod for my ZHP every year on 2/11, for her birthday. :wub :biggrin

Maybe... I've been working on and off on this for a while but I just cleaned those up real quick. I happen to also know the birthdate of the 2002 (cannot find with the decoder) is 11/26/1968

EV90462 '03 330 conv sold to a local dealer - replaced this with the wife's current ZHP conv
JN63243 '00 323 coupe sold to a girl here in N. VA - son's first car, modded nicely, shouldn't have let it go, tried to buy it back to no avail

If you really want the touring, can probably work something for you. The VIN numbers don't show it had been ZHP-ized (front bumper, wheels, steering wheel, shift knob, side skirts) or Dinan-ized (strut bar, s/w2, strut bar, wheels (which I kept), throttle body spacer), or VDO gauges in the console, nor that it was a specific order with sunroof deleteand manual sport seats with European delivery. I bought it from the original owner who was a former BMW racer. The car has 67Kmmiles now, has been tinted, headlights to xenon, tranny & diff fluids changed, it needs absolutely nothing. He's considering selling it, contacted me, and I'm trying to get it out of my head.

Why I sold it -- too many vehicles at the time for the number of drivers we had, and I wanted a 6 spd. Mentally priced out a 6 spd, but I'd probably update the clutch, then might as well update the suspension, well BBK sounds nice too -- see what was happening, I sold it before I waltzed down that path. Dane still kicks me regularly, I do it to myself too.

Now that I look at it again it actually does show sunroof delete and manual seats... well it just doesn't show the glass roof and seat adjustment options. That sounds like the perfect DD but I'm just not in the market for that right now. I'm actually supposed to look at an E28 tomorrow so I'll report back on how that turns out

I would like to note this... the VIN's sequentially directly before and after were produced 10/15/2002. This car has a date of 11/14/2002 so it looks like they probably pulled a bare chassis off the line and sent it to get built. This was the first car produced with option #767, but not the first car with option 716 (M-Tech II body kit). I have seen several Canadian M-Sport cars with 9/02 and 10/02 VIN's that were produced, but it was not many.

I ran ever VIN from the start of the 9/02 production until full production commenced in 3/03... let's just say I've been looking for a while

Why I think that is the car from the Auto Show...

1 - needed to be built late Nov or earlier so it could be shipped to LA

2 - no other ZHP's that I could find prior to that date

3 - has to be a facelift sedan, therefore production of 9/1/02 or later

4 - 2004 production was 6MT only, therefore must be in the VIN range of KM02351 (9/2/02) to KM05224 (8/29/03)

5 - no other cars with option code 767 found built in the 9/02-12/02 range

6 - car is fully optioned out

7 - with that specific car this option leads me to believe it is the car from LA:
S916A - ENTWICKLUNGSFZG.OHNE KONSERVIERUNG - Development veh. w/out preservation

I'm guessing that means that the underbody protectant coat wasn't painted on?

Thats it? Its not bad then. Ive seen some individual e46's they look awesome.. Where was I when they were selling brand new e46's -.-

Meric, that price is my guess... it could be more or less. I know for a fact that Individual paint was a $5000 option on E46's but I don't know what interior options cost.

your VIN should be in your insurance card if you have that (i keep mine in my wallet). i didn't want to walk outside either :P
